Spotted Emily & Neal celebrating their 18th (!) wedding anniversary earlier this week, so I had a rummage in the archive for a few from their day.

I remember giving the bridesmaids a lift to church, and I remember it raining so hard in the evening that the generator providing power to the marquee kept cutting out. The heady days of 2007 when we still had rain, and I was shooting weddings the same way I do now.

There’s a new wedding story on my site (link in bio) from Charlotte & Jon’s wedding a couple of years ago at Architectural Plants in West Sussex. This sprawling horticultural nursery houses some perfect ceremony and reception spaces amongst its spans full of trees and tropical plants. There was paella and ceilidh dancing, and a plant or two.

A belated post from Jessie & Carl’s smallish wedding at Lambeth Town Hall a couple of years ago, which I’ve just added to the wedding stories on my website. One of the more beautiful spaces in a London Town Hall to get married!

It’s that time of year again! My tenth(!) year sifting through the regional finalists for The Wedding Industry Awards photography category, and this year appears to be a bumper one. With the entrants’ clients having had their say, it’s now the judges job to decide which of the photographers will make it to the finals in January.

There are a lot more judges than a decade ago, with many of the previous winners joining the fold. I know there’s a lot of cynicism about contests and awards within this industry, but this is almost certainly the most qualified judging panel I’m aware of in the UK. Only the highest quality suppliers have a chance of winning.

I look forward to meeting many of them at the annual ceremony in London in the new year! Apologies in advance for my rum- and champagne-fuelled nonsense. 😂

A few more from Sammy & Victor’s wedding party at Searcys at the top of The Gherkin. Sammy had briefed me that the plan for the day was a quick ceremony, some speeches and snacks, then a huge party! The plan was executed perfectly.

A happy two year (and one week!) anniversary to Lorna & Kris whose wedding story at The Oak Barn in Kent has just gone live on my website. A dry and sunny October day with cocktails, a tractor and a French dessert with a Scottish twist.

Slideshow day for Sammy & Victor who held their wedding at Searcys at the top of The Gherkin in the heart of the City of London in late-August. The weather was on their side with the rain stopping for both their ceremony and their first dance and evening party, letting everyone enjoy the amazing views, and allowing me my fix of gorgeous light!
