“The Pepperpot”

As most Cornish people know this location well, this needs no introduction. After a stormy morning, I took a chance on heading out to portreath for sunset. Tide was coming in with a good bit of wind to give a decent swell behind the waves. I’ve seen numerous shots of this with big waves, but never seen any with big waves and sunset colours behind. This is just off my phone, but can’t wait to share some off the camera.

“L’averyon”

I captured this on my recent trip to France. This was taken on my overnight stay at chamonix. The hotel sat in the foothills of the French alps and had this view from behind it. The alps are such a magical place and a photographers dream. The light was just about right and this was my favourite composition of the evening.

“Alps Stars”

Taken on my recent trip away to the south of France, I was in St Apollinaire with the French alps all around me. One of the first nights I was there, I sat out and watched the sun set along with the stars rise. This was taken roughly 11pm, and is 10 images stacked in Lightroom. The core was clearly visible by eye in one of the darkest places I’ve ever imaged the night sky. Set up on my rocksteady Benro UK mach 3 tripod, this gave me the sturdiest support for these images.

Taken on my recent short break down at penryn, I went out to the point to capture a sunset, and I took my drone with me and managed to capture this shot, this is a total of 9 shots, 3x3 vertical stitches. My favourite part of this image is the contrast of colours in the water.

A little drone shot from a trip to the lovely kynance cove. The colours of the sea were exactly as can be seen, this image has had virtually no editing done to it. The rocks contrast well against the sapphire blue sea.

“Once in a Blue Moon”

Taken at the weekend just gone, I was out for sunset at pendennis point, which I have some shots to share soon, and luckily took my super long lens. As the sun was setting, the moon was rising behind me, this was taken after I ran back to the car to get the lens and swap out! The boat under the rising moon made a nice simple shot, and the blues of the sea and sky matched nicely with the yellows of the moon and the lights.

“Squawking Chough”

“Dancing lights”

Going back into my archives from that magical night 2 years ago, this is another one of my northern lights shots from the beacon in Bodmin. Still one of the best ever nights I’ve ever experienced, gutted to have missed the recent ones, but this one definitely ticks the boxes.

“The cave”
Taken when I went to mawgan porth a couple of weeks ago, I always try to look for different compositions. Usually I struggle with caves due to the complexity of getting the lighting right, but on this evening, the lighting was perfect. I didn’t mind the flares as I think it adds to the image.
