Since becoming a mum, I’ve realised how much my perspective on work has changed.

And I should probably say — I’m not even back to work yet. 😂 But even being in this in-between stage has made me see things so differently.

3am emails? Somehow, they’re now the norm.
Editing with a baby on my lap, and turning down work because I’d rather spend that time with my son… these are things I never really thought about before.

But there are things I didn’t expect to feel so differently about.

An “extra 20 minutes” on a session doesn’t feel like just 20 minutes anymore. When a session overruns, I’m not simply running behind — I’m missing time with my baby. And those minutes matter.

I still care deeply about what I do. If anything, becoming a mum has made me care more. But I’ve learnt that being ambitious and being present aren’t mutually exclusive. I can love my work and still want to get home.

Being a mum has completely changed the way I value my time — not because I’m less committed, but because I now have someone waiting for me at home who makes every minute count.

So, when I do return to work properly, things will be changing. I’m not entirely sure what that will look like yet, and I’m still figuring it out. But I know the changes I make will be with both me and my baby in mind, and unlike previous years - I will be stricter with them.

Because this next chapter isn’t about choosing between being a mum and being me. It’s about finding a way to make both work — in a way that feels right for us.

It’s been 2 weeks since my family grew and I’m loving being a mum to little man now aswell as my 2 fur babies. 💙
I want to thank everyone for there well wishes and messages of congratulations- it means a lot.

I also want to thank the enquiries that have come in lately - for being understanding that I’m taking some time to soak up all this newborn bubble.

I’ve decided to take a few months to cut back on my shoots, and am only doing a few each month - starting with cake smash’s and milestones to not be away from baby too long - ideally nothing till end of August/September to let me have this wonderful bubble with baby and give him all of my attention.
