Why I love autumn weddings
But also…. Spoiler alert (traitors)
I can finally get back online now I’ve finally caught up with Traitors. I felt like I needed a big sign all morning that said “I haven’t seen it”.
We’ve been gripped with Traitor fever in our house. No correct that. We’ve been gripped with jumpsuit fever and we are all so thrilled he walked out a winner.
The light this morning though, where I am at home, has been so pretty. We’re through the darkest 10 weeks of the year and moving back into the light.
That being said, low light is one of my favourite environments/ styles to shoot. I love it when clients fill rooms full of candles and fairy lights and I can get to working on making your wedding glow.
Autumn weddings are particularly great for this as the sun stays low in the sky in the uk for almost the entire day, so you get fantastic light quality for photography. Added to that every is starting to want to cosy up and get huddling, so the vibes are often some of my favourite.
Let’s not forget about autumnal colour schemes. And I’m not talking pumpkin orange. Sorry - I’m just not. But the rich plum and green colours, even browns, you can lean in to. Well I’m ALL over them.
Don’t let the shorter days put you off an autumn wedding. The fact that it’s dark once your evening entertainment starts really works in your favour as you can expect a full dancefloor from first dance to taxis.
If you’re thinking about an autumn wedding and want to talk about ideas and how best to organise your photos on days short of natural light, contact me. It’s one of my favourites.
