Here's an image of a proud stag that I quite like after I spent the day at Bushy Park on Friday to meet up with a friend and wander around the deer park. There was plenty of bellowing going on, but very little action for the rutt, so was nice to get a reasonable portrait photograph to come away with... :)

A juvenile Red-backed Shrike that stayed local to me for a couple of weeks last month. Shrikes are also known as butcher birds due to the way they impale lizards, small birds and rodents on thorns, barbed wire or twigs while they eat them. Although this one was mainly catching insects and so they were small enough to eat whole... :)



I finally got round to ordering some more of these as they were quite popular when I last had them in. Pack of 4 coaster...
