We are headed to the Heritage Inn International Balloon Festival at the end of the month and excited to see everyone there!!

Meet Competitor #04: Karl Schultz and Over The Rainbow! 🎈

Karl has been an aviator since his teens, beginning with gliders and airplanes before eventually adding hot air balloons to the list. His love of flying has taken him through several different kinds of aviation, but these days you’ll also find him enjoying the view from a balloon basket.

This year marks Karl’s first time joining us as a Festival pilot, and we’re delighted to have another Alberta pilot taking part in the competition.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Karl, Heather and Over The Rainbow to High River!

The best view of the festival isn't from the sidelines. Join a balloon crew and help inflate, launch, retrieve, and pack away a hot air balloon. It's a fun, hands-on way to be part of the action!

Not interested in crewing? We also have a variety of other volunteer opportunities throughout the festival.

New to ballooning? No problem! We'll be offering free crew training workshops before the festival to help you learn the basics and feel confident on the field.
