Is 4 months too old for a newborn session? Absolutely not! 🤍
Not long ago, I photographed a beautiful 4-month-old baby girl named Adhara. Her parents had come to me before for their first baby’s newborn photos, and now they were back with their second little one.
And it reminded me of my own story.
When my youngest daughter was 4 months old, I came across an ad for newborn photography and thought, “Oh! My newborn needs photos like that too!” 😄
It honestly never crossed my mind that she might be too old for a newborn session. She was my tiny baby, and that was all that mattered to me.
So I booked the session.
And here’s a little something you probably don’t know about me…
That very session was actually what made me fall in love with newborn photography. I loved the whole experience so much that I started dreaming about becoming a newborn photographer myself.
And by the time my daughter turned one, I was already photographing her cake smash session in my very own home studio! ❤️
Funny how things happen, isn’t it?
Now, years later, I photograph newborns myself, and I know that the ideal time for those sleepy, curled-up newborn poses is usually within the first two weeks.
But I also know how quickly those first weeks go by.
Sometimes you’re simply too busy adjusting to life with a new baby. Sometimes photography isn’t even on your mind until a month or two later. And sometimes you just discover the idea when your baby is already 4 months old. Just like I did!
And that’s perfectly okay.
Of course, a session with an older baby will look a little different. But different doesn’t mean any less beautiful or special.
So if your baby is 3 weeks old, 2 months, 4 months, or even older, and you’ve been thinking you missed your chance…
You haven’t. 🤍
Because no matter how old your baby is, you’ll never look back at these photos and wish you’d waited longer.
