A little late sharing these Mother’s Day minis… but I couldn’t leave this beautiful gallery sitting in my camera roll forever. 🤍

There’s something so special about photographing motherhood in all its forms … the cuddles, the chaos, the belly laughs, the tiny hands reaching for Mum and those quiet little moments in between.

And when a brand new baby is part of the story too? Even sweeter. 🥹

These are the photographs that only become more precious as the years pass.

I’ve been so quiet on here lately, and I’m just going to be honest about why. When you’re wearing all the hats, the posting and marketing is the thing that quietly slips to the bottom of the list. But I’m still here, still doing the work I love the most.

Capturing your babies and family moments is still the very heart of what I do, newborns especially. I’ve loved watching my world grow too, the childcare centre photos, your parties and christenings, the weddings coming up, the branding sessions…. All of it. But those brand new babies will always be my favourite.

Behind the scenes though, life is loud. I’m nearly finished uni, caring for international students (whoever told you teenagers are easy was lying), and at the beginning of another IVF journey.

That last one I went back and forth about sharing. But I don’t want to hide it, because so many of you are walking this same road quietly while still showing up for everyone else. The hope, the waiting, trying not to get your heart too far ahead of yourself… it’s a lot to carry. And maybe it’s part of why I love this work so much. I know exactly what these little people mean, and I don’t take a single newborn, a single squishy cheek, a single tired new mum in front of my camera for granted.

So if you’ve wondered where I went, I’m here. Still juggling, still hoping, still turning up. I’m working through all your edits as fast as this full life will let me, and every image is hand edited one by one, because I won’t send you anything that isn’t exactly how I want it to be. Every single one matters to me.

Thank you for being patient with the real, messy version of me. She’s all I’ve got, and I wouldn’t want to hand you anything less. 🤍

I could watch this one back a hundred times. There’s something about a newborn session set to motion, the tiny fingers, the sleepy sighs, the way a family looks at their brand new person. A photo freezes the moment, but a highlight film lets you feel it all over again.

This is exactly why I’ve fallen so in love with creating these little films. They capture the bits that are almost impossible to hold onto otherwise.

(And yes, if you’ve noticed I’ve been quiet on my feed and living in stories lately, life has been full. Sessions, edits, uni, the lot. Loving it, even on the days I’m still recovering. But more on that another time.)

Highlight films make a beautiful add on to any package, and they come included in some of mine too. If you’d love your moments captured in motion, come and chat to me.

There’s something really special about photographing a family at home.

Not just any backdrop… their backdrop. The front steps the kids race down every morning. The old tree they’ve climbed a hundred times. The paddock where the light hits just right at the end of the day.

This mama is weeks away from meeting her fourth little one, surrounded by her three wildly sweet boys and the partner who makes it all feel easy. And honestly? The joy in these images speaks for itself.

When you choose to bring me into your own space, the magic that happens is something no hired venue can replicate. It’s the real stuff. The lived in, loved hard, full to the brim kind of beautiful.

These are the images you’ll pull out in twenty years and feel it all over again.

Something new just landed at Emberwood and I am so excited to finally share it.

The Winter Warmth Experience is a styled studio session just for mums. Expecting, postpartum, or simply a mum who hasn’t had a moment to herself in way too long. This one is yours.

You arrive, slip into our chunky cream knit from the Emberwood client closet, settle in with a warm hot chocolate or coffee and a fresh Nutella Danish, and just breathe. No rushing, no kids, no mental load. Just you, soft light, and the kind of stillness you forgot existed.

The session is unhurried by design. Time to settle in, to be present, to actually switch off for a little while. The images are almost a bonus.

10 beautifully edited images. $295.

Available through July 31 only and spots are limited.

Behind on the feed? Absolutely. Unapologetically? Also yes. 😄

When you are simultaneously the photographer, editor, bookkeeper, marketing manager, website designer, email copywriter, studio cleaner, prop stylist, client coordinator, SEO strategist and chief coffee drinker… the Instagram queue gets a little long.

But THIS session. This one has been sitting in my drafts demanding to be posted and honestly I cannot believe I waited this long.

A mum who deserved an entire day dedicated to her. A dad who showed up and actually nailed it. Three kids who brought every bit of energy, personality and chaos that makes a family session feel real.

This is what Mother’s Day looks like at Emberwood. Not perfect. Just perfectly them.

I have so many beautiful sessions to share over the coming weeks so if you have been waiting to see your family on the feed, your time is coming 💛

Trigger warning: infertility, pregnancy loss.

I was invited to write as a guest author for Gallery Lane Magazine, a publication built by photographers for photographers on a foundation of community over competition. And not just any issue; their 40th. Being chosen for that milestone is something I will genuinely never forget.

I said yes because I have always believed that infertility and loss should not be something we whisper about or push aside. Twenty years of living this has taught me that silence does not protect anyone. It just makes people feel more alone.

But I also wrote this article with photographers specifically in mind. So many of us photograph newborns, maternity sessions, and growing families without truly understanding what some of those clients walked through to get there. I wanted to open that door. To help create more awareness, more sensitivity, and more space for the grief that can sit quietly inside even the happiest of milestones.

The photographs throughout the article are mine. The words are the most vulnerable I have ever shared publicly.

If you have lived this, I hope it finds you. If you photograph families, I hope it changes something in the way you show up for them.

Maternity photography looks different for everyone, and that is exactly how it should be. 🤍

This mama walked in knowing exactly who she was and exactly how she wanted to be seen. Bold, playful, unapologetically herself, and absolutely glowing. These images are not for everyone, and I respect that completely. But what I will never do is make a single person feel anything less than celebrated for choosing to show up in their own skin, on their own terms.

Women’s bodies grow human beings. They stretch and shift and do the most extraordinary things, and yet so many of us spend our whole lives being told to cover up, shrink down, or feel shame about the very thing that makes us remarkable.

Pregnancy is not a time to hide. It is a time to be seen.

Whether you want a soft, romantic session wrapped in silk, or something bold, editorial, and dripping in personality like this, my job is simply to capture YOU. The real, whole, beautiful, powerful you.

To every woman reading this: your body deserves to be celebrated exactly as it is. You do not need to earn that. 🌿
