There really is something for everyone at the 2026 Brisbane Festival. As we left the Festival Village on Sunday everyone was having fun learning to Line Dance.

We saw "How The Birds Got Their Colours" at Sydney Festival a couple of years ago. So we were delighted when it was announced it would be performed at this years' Brisbane Festival. It's a collaboration between ARC Circus, Luther Cora and the Yugambeh Aboriginal Dancers. It's an entertaining and informative 30 minute show - it's just a shame it wasn't performed against the Brisbane skyline rather than under the covered stage at the Festival Village.
There are more performances during the afternoons of 8th and 9th September. And they're FREE

The Choir of Man is a joyful, upbeat, musical celebration of mateship, community, friendship and pubs. I love going to the The University of Queensland Great Court race organised by UQ Sport. This years event was delayed from May due to bad weather, but the sun shone on the event this week. Good to see a para relay included. And great to see the continued support of UQ Alumni

Hasn't everyone had evil thoughts directed at an awful boss at some time in their career? But not everyone goes as far as the protagonists in "Dead Bat On The Night Shift" - the latest production from Observatory Theatre which runs at the PIP Theatre until 5th September.

New work that encourages us to call-out unacceptable behaviour, to value true friendship, and to support people who may need our empathy and help, must be new work that should be celebrated and seen. You may not find Dead Bat on the Night Shift to be hilarious, but it’s a well-directed and thought
