Hi, for those of you who don't know me, I'm a retired wedding photographer. :)

From 2004 to 2019 I photographed weddings locally and nationally, in a candid and photojournalistic style. And loved every minute of it.

But in 2010 my wife had a baby boy, with a baby girl following three years later. Working weekends started to wear on me. Missing out on all the weekend fun with our two little ones, I started shooting more corporate events and headshots, and slowly began winding weddings back when school started.

Fast forward to today, I still photograph headshots and the occasional event, however since 2022 I've been focused on photographing families and dogs in our little studio in a 100 year old general store in Greenslopes.

I'm currently working on a new black and white series with a canvas backdrop I painted myself.

📸 We are at the Pinelands Centenary Festival today!

Come and visit the Stewart Ross Portraits stand at the carnival as the community celebrates 100 years of the Pinelands Heritage Hall. The same age as our little shop in Greenslopes.

There is plenty happening from 10am to 3pm including live music, street food, market stalls, a vintage fashion parade, kids entertainment and more.

If you are attending the festival, stop by and say hello.

Not just a portrait.

Booking a portrait session is never just about getting a few photos. Anyone can snap a photo on their phone these days.

The real magic is the experience you share while creating something together. The printed portraits become reminders of that moment and of this time in their life. Everything moves so quickly, especially as we get older, and kids grow up at a crazy pace. Having moments frozen in time is pretty special, and you get to keep those memories forever.
