Daisy & the Duke

Daisy & the Duke Two young, fun, loving photographers who are on an exploration to visually capture the essence of love and life. We don’t shoot people.

You might be asking yourself the question “Who is Daisy and the Duke?” Well, we actually go by the names of Callena and Sid. We are fun, loving adventurers who have an incredible passion to explore the world and to meet all the amazing and inspiring people who live within it. We are both hopeless romantics, who are crazy in love with each other, and also madly in love with love itself. We are visu

al story tellers who are curious about all great things that surround us. We love meeting new people and discovering what excites them. It’s that excitement and essence of life that lives within every one of us that we strive to capture within our photographs. Our practice is grounded in the beliefs of hard work, big dreams, and always sharing inspiration with others. This, put together with our quirky personalities and massive gratitude for life, make us a pretty awesome team. As Irving Penn (one of our favourite photographers) once said, “We don’t call them shoots here. It’s really a love affair”.

We are so excited to be offering some very special mini family photoshoots, just in time for Mother's Day!

Some updated family photos make for such a treasured gift, so why not think about this for the mums in your life (or hint to your partner that this could be a nice gift for yourself 😉).

The sessions will be held on Saturday the 15th of April so that you have the photos in your own hands to gift on Mother's Day in May 🥰

If you're interested in finding out more about the sessions, please send us a DM.

While you see a beautiful moment of a husband and wife taking in the view of the Swiss countryside, we see a clock saying 2o’clock meaning we have exactly 3 minutes to run 1km to the train station (the Swiss trains are incredibly on time). We HAD to make it on this train in order to get back to town to see a cow parade (very important stuff), so we had no option but to sprint back. When the church clock struck 2, the bride gathered her dress into a ball under her arm and straight up legged it, leaving everyone to fend for themselves. We ran all through the streets, hearing onlookers shout “the groom is chasing the bride!”, where we somehow made it back just in time.

A First Look! We love them and cannot recommend them enough, but we know they are not for everyone. They do help take out a lot of the stress and anxiety in the lead up to the ceremony and allow you to both have a moment of just for yourself. We want to hear from you, who is doing a first look in 2020??

I would be lying if I didn’t tell you that this wedding is one of our all time favourites. For the two of us, Mel & Mick are some of our favourite people to be around and so grateful for their friendship and we can never stop smiling when we talk about how amazing their ceremony backdrop was….JUST LOOK AT IT! You cannot go wrong with the Swiss Alps.

How is 2019 coming to an end?! I swear we only just started the year and now its already wrapping up. Just a quick reminder to all of those engaged couples out there that the early weeks of January are the busiest time for wedding photography enquiries. If you or someone you know are planning a 2020 or 2021 wedding, make sure you don’t wait until the new year to find out about availability as things will fill up very quickly.

How is this for breaking tradition!!! Walking down the aisle with your best friend and husband to be. I don’t know about you, but WE LOVE THIS with all of our hearts. We can’t stress enough how powerful it is for you to make your wedding meaningful for you! Thank you Kat & Carl for doing just that.

It is always refreshing to know that we are similar to all of our couples as we are also engaged and navigating our way through wedding planning. Our advice: take it slow, enjoy the process and make the day a true representation of who you both are as a couple. We did our engagement shoot down in Victoria before we started planning anything with our own wedding. Since then we have spent time looking into wedding venues and locations and simply couldn’t find that represented “us”. So this photo from our engagement shoot is actually us standing in our wedding ceremony spot, as we just loved it so much!! Bring on 2020!

Annie actually confessed to us over dinner that they saw a wedding we posted that had fabric draped over the branches of a tree and knew that’s what she wanted for her wedding to her best friend, Charlie. Every wedding we photograph has unique and interesting elements, and we love to share these with others to help with their own wedding preparations. You do not need to reinvent the wheel, just put your own spin on it (pun intended).

There was no need for us to bring a drone when we had access to a helicopter for Amy & Ryans wedding…. If you look close enough you can actually spot Ryan nervously pacing on the beach as the helicopter with his bride arrives.
