Ruth Schwarzenholz (BA, Fine Arts-Photography) graduated from Victorian College of Arts, Melbourne University in 1993. Ruth spent years traveling the world as a travel photographer for P&O cruise ships working her way through the South Pacific, Europe and South America photographing Fashion, Portraits, Corporate and Social Events. In London and Paris Ruth worked with renowned commercial photograph

er Diana Miller and in association with London advertising agencies: Mc Cann Erickson, BMP, Bates Dorland and J.W.T. Major clients included: Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Heinz, and Kellogg’s. In Australia, Ruth has worked nationally for a range of commercial and private clients. Her agents have been “The Corporate Photo Agency” and renowned “Getty Images.” Through these agents she has shot for: Royal Bank of Scotland, Telstra, Westpac, National Australia Bank and CPA. Ruth’s work has been published and featured in Women’s Day, Ok Magazine, InDesign and a variety of singers CD covers. So great to photograph the International Women’s Day Business Luncheon again for Creative City Hobsons Bay Hobsons Bay City Council
📸 Always lovely seeing so many familiar faces again after recently photographing the Business Excellence Awards.
The event was presented together with
Maribyrnong City Council, celebrating women in business, leadership and community.
The afternoon was hosted by the always engaging Maree Sortino from The Social Secret, with an inspiring talk from Monique Milenkovic, founder of The Cupcake Queens, sharing her story of growing a small local business into a well-known national brand.
A wonderful afternoon to capture — great conversation, delicious food, cannoli, gelato and of course cupcakes. 🧁

This special In Conversation brings together two deeply personal books shaped by lived experience during World War II: A Brilliant Life by Rachelle Unreich and And Silently Falls the Snow by Klaus Schwarzenholz
Join award-shortlisted journalist Rachelle Unreich (short-listed for four awards) and local creative Ruth Schwarzenholz for an intimate evening hosted by the incredible Sun Bookshop ,held just a few doors down at The Younger Sun in Yarraville.

📖 A Brilliant Life tells the extraordinary true story of Rachelle’s mother, a Holocaust survivor who endured four concentration camps — a profound testament to courage, memory and resilience.

📖 And Silently Falls the Snow, written by Ruth’s late father Klaus Schwarzenholz, is a deeply moving historical novel inspired by his own family history. Set during the brutal final winter of World War II, it follows two sisters and their father as they flee Silesia — a story of strong women, family bonds, heartbreak, hope and survival without losing humanity.

For those in the west who missed Klaus’s earlier local launches — and for readers who love Rachelle’s remarkable book — this evening brings both stories together in one powerful conversation.
As we approach the 81st anniversary of the end of World War II, this conversation speaks to the importance of remembrance — how stories are preserved, passed on, and never forgotten.

Such a brilliant three days photographing the Marketing Tech Retreat by Ashton Media on the Mornington Peninsula.

From the welcome drinks hosted by Deloitte Digital, to the keynotes, workshops, Think Tanks, wine tasting, and all the incredible networking moments — it was amazing to capture it all.
