To me, your story lies within the rare moments that pass us in a heartbeat - it is concealed in the touch of a hand, a tear or a stolen kiss. I am Jenni Elizabeth, an avid wedding and portraiture photographer, neat-freak and a hopelessly romantic. I see big things in small gestures, have cried at every single one of my weddings and am absolutely in love with what I do! I call Cape Town my home but the world my venture, as I was lucky enough to have done three international weddings so far in Greece, Italy, and Thailand. I long to capture you, your story and your being, just the way you are without any fuss or fancies! My commitment belongs to you on your shoot or big day, as I will always make sure you are at ease and enjoying this as much as I do. It is non-invasive as I see myself as a fly on the wall, overlooking a beautiful love story as it unfolds. I essentially use natural light only, as I found this tells your story in the most organic and real way, although I might setup light at your reception if needed. I pour a little bit of myself into each and every shoot I do, and I cannot wait to capture and share your story in the most genuine way! Destination weddings have a special energy to them… There’s something about your closest friends and family flying in from all corners of the world to celebrate with you.

Bridget and Ross are Australians who live in Oslo, and they got married in Franschhoek. 🌍

Their friends and family flew in from Australia, the UK and beyond to be there. You could feel it all day: everyone they love most, in one garden, for one day.

Then it rained, and that only brought everyone closer. 🌧️🤍

Destination weddings have a special energy to them. Something about people flying in from all corners of the world to celebrate & witness the love between two people. Bridget and Ross are Australians who live in Oslo, and they got married in Franschhoek. 🌍

Their friends and family flew in from Australia and the UK to be there. You could feel it all day: everyone they love most, in one garden, for one day. Their favourite place isn’t a place at all. It’s with their people.
Though I’m pretty sure La Cotte, with its gardens in full October bloom, comes very close. 🌸

Then it rained, and that only brought everyone closer. 🌧️🤍

Most people feel their hearts sink when they see rain in the forecast. Me? I get excited. 🌧️
Rainy weddings have a magic all of their own. They draw everyone closer, make the day feel more intimate, and bring a soft, moody light that feels almost enchanted. Add La Cotte’s gardens in full spring bloom, and it was insane to photograph.

Bridget and Ross are two of the kindest, warmest people you could ever meet. They live in Oslo, and their friends and family travelled all the way from the UK and Australia to celebrate with them. When the rain paused in the afternoon, we slipped out into the gardens, and one particular patch of lace flowers absolutely stole my heart🤍
A few first favourites from their day, with plenty more to come.

Somewhere far away and dreamy… or just a short drive from home. ☀️
The pool at Zomerlust Boutique Hotel Paarl is pure design magic: rich, warm tones, sun-drenched textures and that striking red wall stealing the show. It’s the kind of space that makes you want to slow down, stay a little longer and let the afternoon drift by. 🍷

Wedding season is officially here! 🥂

This weekend I’m kicking things off with Bridget and Ross at none other than La Cotte, one of my all-time favourite venues. To celebrate this beautiful place (and get the festivities going), here’s a little look back at some of my favourite moments captured there over the years. ✨

A few cellphone pics from our night at Briquette…
Finally Cape Town has a restaurant that serves the food I grew up on. 🇿🇦

Johnny Hamman has opened BRIQUETTE, and it’s everything I hoped for: braaivleis, biltong, braaibroodjies, malva pudding… plankie steak, childhood on a plate, but elevated and done beautifully.

The highlight for me was the leopard print tiramisu 🐆 and the steak was chef’s kiss 🤌

Johnny, alles wat jy doen is net ongelooflik.. en gisteraand was geen uitsondering!! 🫶

Can highly recommend! Whether you’re born-and-bred South African or visiting for the first time, go.

Jaki and I were in primary school together, which makes photographing her family — and brand new baby Lena — a particular kind of special.

We shot half the session in our “backyard” on Melkbosstrand beach and the rest at their home. The South Easter was pumping, so going down to the water was off the table and we stayed up on the dunes instead. No complaints from me. The wind gives you movement, and dune grass in late light is its own kind of beautiful.

All-female team, zero stress, far too much laughing 🤍

This was a personal brand shoot for Keelyn of I Do Box | Cape Town Wedding Planner. We’ve worked so many weddings together over the years, so being the one she asked to photograph her was a real compliment 🌸
Kerrith Coleman handled the planning, moodboard and shot list, which meant I could walk in and simply make pictures. And our dearest on make-up, as always.

I’m so proud to finally share this: the official Garden Day SA poster! I’ve been bursting to show you, and it’s even more special seeing it come to life in media across the country.

A huge thank you to ClarisseCoetzeeMarketingEvents, who brought me on board and gave me the creative freedom to put together a dream team. And what a team it was! The beautiful Nina brought so much warmth and grace in front of the lens, Algria Ferreira worked her magic on make-up, Lindiluxe styled the most gorgeous wardrobe, and the incredibly talented Susan Brand Design brought it all together with her illustrations. Seeing our work side by side makes my heart so full.
