Final day of my first Kenyan safari 🇰🇪

21/11/2025

We spent our first morning in Laikipia with Giza, the black leopard who has become something of a legend here. It is unusual to spend this much time with any leopard, and even more so with one as rare as her. She moved around us with complete ease, slipping in and out of the light, sometimes passing so close that her tail brushed the side of the vehicle.

She was scent marking often, pausing to breathe in the air as if reading invisible messages on the wind. It felt like she was searching for something. Eventually she led us to it. A small dik dik she had cached earlier. A quiet reminder of how carefully leopards hide what they want to protect.

Her cubs are close to a year old now. Old enough to hunt on their own, yet she still returns to her hidden kills to share food with them. Watching her weave through the brush, vanish, then reappear again made the whole landscape feel alive.

Melanistic leopards are incredibly uncommon in Africa. Their coats look entirely black until the sun catches them just right and the rosettes reveal themselves like a secret. Giza is one of several melanistic leopards recorded in this part of Laikipia, which makes the region one of the only places on the continent where sightings like this are even possible.

There was something special about this morning. A sense of being invited into a story that has been unfolding long before we arrived and will continue long after we leave. For a few hours we simply watched her move through her world, confident and calm, a rare animal in a rare moment.

Day 4 of my first Kenyan safari.

Only two northern white rhinos remain on Earth - Najin and Fatu, a mother and daughter living at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya.

I have had the privilege of spending the last few mornings with them, standing quietly as they graze under the same African skies their ancestors once filled in the thousands. It is impossible not to feel both heartbreak and awe.

This carousel shares their story - from the species’ near-extinction to the pioneering efforts now underway to bring them back. It is a story of loss but also of hope, innovation and the people who refuse to give up.

From above, the desert feels alive.
Shifting, breathing, changing shape with every gust of wind.

Namibia has a rhythm of its own.

Lines etched by sandstorms. Shadows stretched by time. A landscape that looks eternal but is constantly being rewritten.

These drone moments capture the textures, colours and quiet scale that inspired my new body of work, Desert Wanderers - a collection born from the balance between endurance and fragility in one of the harshest places on Earth.

It’s our 3 year anniversary at the !! 🥳🥳 This is a photo of my very first sale and it was on opening day 🤗🤗 I didn’t even have display walls yet 😅 just a few pieces on easels.

I am so grateful for that opportunity. Not only do we have our display walls up, we have double the space and have survived half of the 3 years during these crazy times.

That is something worth celebrating 🥳🥳 I’m looking forward to the next few months and cannot wait to share new work from my latest projects
