love you more.

An intimate family microwedding on the water at Lake Norman. They rented the most gorgeous lakeside airbnb, had the ceremony out in the backyard by the water, and then we took a break while the family sipped on drinks and enjoyed amazingly delicious apps to run around the property for their portraits.

Days like these are magical. Slow and intentional. Stunning and emotional.

Often my favorite photos are the ones taken from never putting my camera down. The in between and unexpected moments.

I am a believer that your wedding photos should be pretty, for sure… but they should be filled with feeling. There can be a difference with a photo that is pretty yet dull, and a photo that is pretty because it is full of life and emotion. ✨

Nicolas and Kelsey’s day at Baucom House was perfection. Every detail felt so true to them, and the amount of love they were surrounded by made my heart grow 10x bigger that day.

Wish we could relive it again and again.

We hung out with the horses, rolled around in the grass, and raced down the hill on longboards and it couldn’t have been more fun!

my take on weddings…

I was on a wedding consult call today and the bride mentioned how she doesn’t want photos that feel fake, and she doesn’t care if they aren’t perfectly curated… she wants photos of people hugging and real moments shared between each other. And I couldn’t help but smile ear to ear because I knew we were so aligned.

When your job is to take pretty pictures, it can be easy to fall for the trap of feeling they have to be curated to be perfect. But in my opinion, the best and prettiest pictures come from taking a step back, being observant, and capturing real moments that tell their story and show their personality.

The last thing I want is for you to feel I am dictating anything about your wedding day- my job is to be there for you, as you need me, and to document your story as an artist… admiring + observing.

all the feels ✨

Little did Rachel know that Judd and I were stressing about the incoming storm and had to push their “walk on the beach” a little earlier.

With the storm blowing in it was WINDY, but I think capturing how things FELT is what makes your gallery and images feel alive and deep. It was windy, it was chaotic, but it was SO exciting and the smiles didn’t leave any of our faces the whole time. 🫶🏼
