Was recently contacted by the daughter of a couple whose wedding I photographed in 1984! She wanted to duplicate her parents wedding album to give to her sister as a gift. Long story, but what a great project. Photos were scanned and the album was reproduced digitally, cover, pages and all, by my current album supplier.

CAMERA TEST: When you're a professional photographer with your first new professional camera in 7 years, it's a big deal. And a lot of fun figuring it all out and testing. Tysons Corner is a wealth of natural and made-made subject matter as you figure out how the thing works. A Canon 5D Mark IV, maybe the most amazing and advanced camera they've ever made.

When you visit the Philip Kent Studio at my home office which backs up to a woods and creek near Tysons Corner (of all places) you might be entertained with other "visitors". A recent client asked why a camera was set up facing out a window. I explained our frequent "critter parade", pulled open the curtains and as if on cue, a deer walks by! Perfect timing and hilarious.

After you getting the lighting perfect try arranging over 100 noisy, happy high school seniors for their class photo on graduation day! Always a fun and challenging job every year. I am happy to be a part of their important day!

I recently was requested by a small law firm to photograph them for their new website. They wanted to know if I could do a "better job" than their previous photographer and showed me what he or she had done. I could not believe the amateurish results they had recieved but at least they recognized the need for better results!
See here what I did and the IMPROVEMENT in the POSING, the LIGHTING, the BACKGROUND, their EXPRESSIONS, the RETOUCHING, and the COLOR. All these factors make a DIFFERNCE in achieving PROFESSIONAL results.

It’s hard to believe that I photographed my first wedding reception at the Ft. Belvoir Officers Club which overlooks the Potomac River, way back in 1979, 38 years ago! I was just starting out.
