From the archives….
This was taken nine years ago on Topsail Beach.
Mom said let’s go as a family. And as much family could come - did.
We all met on the beach we grew up going to and stayed an entire week.
We all took turns covering one thing or another to share in the load for this kind of experience together.
I remember waking up to watch a sunrise before cooking breakfast for the whole team, right before setting out for an entire day on the sand.
It was quite memorable watching my kids and nieces and nephews play in the water with my mom and my sisters just like we did as kids.
Kami and I taught our daughters the art of shark tooth hunting, a skill they both maintain to this day.
We watched an eclipse, flew kites, visited the turtle center, ate at our favorite spots, played some putt-putt, ate ice cream and walked for miles along the south end.
The memories aren’t as full as they once were because almost ten years have passed since.
Yet every time I pull up these pics to relive, my mind goes on overload recalling the moments that only an image can help me recall.
I’m thankful I’ve got millions of memories spread across albums and boxes and terabyte after terabyte in devices at home.
Every single one of them are a link to the past for me and my children later on in life.
Photos matter y’all!
Be sure to take them AND be present in them!
