A little Saturday surprise at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake! 💍❤️

Ethan and Lauren Zemke drove over from Spokane for a night in Whitefish — exploring town, dinner plans at the Boat Club Lodge at Whitefish Lake and a little something extra planned before dinner. 😉

While I casually hung out in a lawn chair on the beach pretending I had absolutely nothing to do with anything 😂, Ethan got down on one knee.

She was SO surprised… and she said YES! 💍🥂

Afterward, we wandered around the Lodge, ventured right into Whitefish Lake, and then headed to a few of my favorite spots around town for some just-engaged photos in the aspens and mountain fields.

Such a fun evening with these two. Congratulations, Ethan + Lauren Zemke ! ❤️🏔️

Months of planning for one very important question… 💍🏔️

Cullen Domingue reached out months ago to plan a surprise proposal at Big Bend in Glacier National Park, and from there, the secret planning began.

We went over the location, timing and logistics. I sent videos so he knew exactly where to go, and even dropped off radios ahead of time because cell service in Glacier is mostly nonexistent.

Then came proposal morning.

Once I had safely driven past where they were staying, I sent Cullen the message:

“Okay, you’re free to leave!”

I headed into Glacier to get into position.
Right before I lost cell service, I checked his location one last time…and watched him turn up the North Fork instead of heading into Glacier toward Going-to-the-Sun Road. 😳

For a moment, I had NO idea what to do. Turn around and chase him? Keep going? Trust the plan?

I kept going.

At that point, all I could do was trust that somehow we were both going to end up at Big Bend. 😂

And sure enough…a little while later, there they were.

Turns out, Cullen had come in via Camas Road.

Crisis averted. We were right on time and everything was going exactly as planned. 💍

After months of planning, Cullen got down on one knee beneath the mountains at Big Bend…

and she said YES. ❤️💍

Then we got to celebrate with engagement photos throughout Glacier, from Going-to-the-Sun Road to Lake McDonald.

This is why I love photographing Glacier National Park proposals. So much happens behind the scenes before that one incredible moment — choosing the location, timing everything perfectly, navigating Glacier traffic, keeping the secret, and making sure I’m exactly where I need to be.

Congratulations to these two — what a picture-perfect Glacier day! ❤️

Not every wedding needs a ballroom.

Sometimes all you need is the people who mean the most, a mountaintop, and Glacier National Park putting on an incredible show in the distance.

With her three daughters by their side, these two exchanged vows at the summit of Whitefish Mountain Resort. The girls even created all of the bouquets themselves, and they turned out beautiful.

We celebrated with mountaintop portraits, a “just married” chairlift ride, golden fields, and the shores of Lodge at Whitefish Lake before they ended the evening with dinner at Whitefish Lake Restaurant.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! ❤️

💍 Proposal season has been keeping me busy, and I’m excited to share this amazing moment from a few nights ago at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake.

Alex Emanuel planned the perfect surprise while visiting Montana with Annie Leenheers entire family from Chicago. Her parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews were all part of the plan, and about 40 minutes after she said yes, they joined in the celebration!

We originally planned to use the dock, but after days of rain, part of it was underwater, so we made a quick change and found another beautiful spot along the lake.
Before getting down on one knee, Alex shared a few words with Annie. She was so excited, and the smile on her face says it all.

One of my favorite details was Annie’s cowboy hat from KEMO SABE. While they were in Whitefish, she had their dog Otto branded into it, and it ended up being part of the proposal too. 🐾🤠

Congratulations, Alex & Annie! Wishing you both a lifetime of adventures together. 💙

Proposal plans don’t always stay the same... and that’s perfectly okay.

I had been working with Gaines’ mom to plan a surprise proposal at Belton Stage Park. Then the day before the proposal, Gaines saw a photo of Lake McDonald and knew that’s where he wanted to ask the biggest question of his life.

As a fishing guide in Florida, being near the water meant a lot to him, so we quickly adjusted the plan. I sent over videos of the new location so everyone knew exactly where to go and what to expect.

The best part? We arrived to a completely empty dock at Lake McDonald. A few locals were relaxing on the beach, and once I filled them in on what was about to happen, they were all in on keeping the surprise.

Everyone arrived together for what Sasha thought was simply a family picnic in Glacier. Gaines, Sasha, and his sister walked out to the end of the dock. His sister was getting ready to take a Polaroid with the mountains behind them when Gaines turned around, got down on one knee, and completely surprised her.

She said YES! 💍

After celebrating with both families, we headed to Belton Stage Park for a champagne toast and portraits to finish an incredible afternoon.

Thinking about proposing in Glacier National Park? I’d love to help you create a proposal that’s completely your own—from choosing the perfect location to planning every last detail so you can simply enjoy the moment.

The Haney family was in Whitefish for a family reunion and was staying at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. It couldn’t have been a more perfect morning—blue skies, beautiful lake views, and such a great place to get everyone together for family photos.

I love photographing Lodge at Whitefish Lake because every direction is picture-perfect, and it’s so easy for families staying there. Everyone simply walks out the front door, and we start shooting!

The youngest granddaughter absolutely stole the show. She was hilarious, full of energy, cowboy boots and all. ❤️
These are the sessions I love most. Great people, beautiful scenery, and by the end we’re all just standing around talking because nobody is quite ready to leave.
Planning a family reunion or vacation in Whitefish? I’d love to help you capture your crew while everyone is together!

Still catching up on sharing sessions from Memorial Day weekend!

This Whitefish morning was absolutely epic. We started at the lake with calm water, mountain views, and one of those picture-perfect blue sky days Montana does so well. Then we headed to one of my favorite fields in town for a completely different adventure.

One of my favorite things about this session was seeing a family that still makes spending time together a priority. Between the laughs, the cowboy hats, and the incredible scenery, it was such a fun morning to photograph.

Whitefish really showed off for this one. ☀️

Some of my favorite family sessions happen right here at 🤍

It’s one of those spots where everything just comes together — the mountains, the lake, the light… and a little bit of chaos in the best way (especially with kids 😉).

Whether it’s a big extended family trip or just your crew on vacation, these sessions are always about capturing what this time actually feels like.

If you’re staying at the Lodge and thinking about photos while you’re here, I put together a blog showing what a session looks like — from big group shots to all the in-between moments. Link in bio
