"I don't know how to be sexy" Girl, same. 🫠

You think I walk around feeling sexy all the time because I’m a bo***ir photographer, I don’t.

Most days it’s baggy clothes, hair in a messy ponytail, and me overthinking everything.

Even on dates, I’m in my head.
Does this look good on me? Do I smell good? Is he going to like this?
I feel awkward more than I feel sexy.

And yet…
She’s still in there.

I catch glimpses of her.
I see her when I’m being photographed, like these gorgeous images captured by my fellow bo***ir photographer

I see her in images like these.
That version of me sometimes gets buried among daily responsibilities. But when things slow down, sexy can find me again.

And that’s what I do with you too.
You don’t have to feel sexy all the time to be her.
You just have to be willing to meet her.

Mom, professional, caretaker. The one who figures it out for everybody else.

She walked in saying she couldn't picture herself in photos like this.

Girl, same. I said the exact same thing before I did my own bo***ir session. And I've had a camera in my hand since high school.

It's not that you can't do this. It's that nobody's ever shown you what it looks like when someone who looks like you takes up this kind of space. That's a gap in what you've been shown, not a reflection of what's possible for you.

Before you even walk through my door, we've already talked. The vibe, the outfits, all of it. And when we're shooting, I'm right there next to you, physically showing you exactly what to do. I'm not handing you a pose and walking away.

Not even close.

I mean… sure.

But that’s not why women book me.

They book me because they’ve been hiding. Because they don’t feel confident in their bodies. Because they’ve spent years avoiding mirrors, photos, and anything that puts the spotlight on them. And somewhere along the way, they forgot what it feels like to actually like what they see.

So yeah, we might take the clothes off. But what we’re really doing?

We’re stripping away the doubt, the shame, and the stories they’ve been carrying for way too long.

She's the one everybody else runs to.

The one who handles it: The career, the kids, the calendar that never stops,the mental load that doesn't clock out at 5.

She knows she's that girl. She just forgot what it felt like to be her for a minute.

And just like I told her from day one, I wasn't going to just point a camera at her and hope for the best. I got on the floor with her. Showed her exactly where to put her body. Twisted myself into a pretzel so she could see what I meant.

That's the job.

Chin up, body relaxed (kinda), head back like she had absolutely nowhere else to be.

Your kids will be ok for a few hours without you.
But you? You need this more than you know.

I asked her what she loved about herself, she told me what she didn’t like instead.

When someone asks what you love about yourself, your brain usually goes somewhere else first. The thing you hide. The angle you use in photos. The smile you try to control.
