Thank you for highlighting family photography and lifting up Documentary Family Photography. It isn’t for everyone but to the people who appreciate it I say right on! The posed portraits are nice, but they are not the moments you will remember. This little guy, who probably just learned how to push buttons on his toys, discovered a “button” in the bath tub. His family hired me for a day-in-the-life session, so I was there for bath time. I was able to capture this very moment, with his face reflected, because his family granted me access to document their life. My favorite Christmas photo this year. Our super creative and resourceful son went outside and cut a branch off of the cypress tree in our yard. He set it up in a vase in his bathroom, decorated it with ornaments and lights, and for the topper, he took a toilet paper, roll and taped a paper star to it. But then he got sad that it wouldn’t stay upright— nothing more tape couldn’t fix though. (This is what he does right before bed every night, his bright ideas!💕) It was a good holiday season. Ready for 2025!

Yes, I do lots of color wedding images too— I enjoyed catching this moment when the groom’s two sisters were braiding his hair for the ceremony. This is compketely candid — I watched and waited for her to hold up the phone so her sister could see the “reference” W***y Nelson. So much of what I do is anticipating moments.
