I will never get tired of seeing how newborns look at their parents in those first few moments after birth! It’s just magical🙌🏻. Was so awesome to see the hospital crew prioritize these moments with mom and dad during a C-section

I attended a maternal health panel event this past weekend put on by ICAN of Santa Barbara, International Cesarean Awareness Network. There was a lot of talk about midwives and their work. This beautiful woman right here is one of our local Ventura midwives. She’s also one of several subjects for my personal project Follow the Midwives, which documents the work and fascinating on-call lives of midwives in photos.
