"After the Storm!"

As I sat down for dinner at Round Island Kitchen on Mackinac Island two nights ago, a steady rain was falling, with the sun occasionally breaking through the clouds. I knew the conditions were perfect for a rainbow, but of course, my food had just arrived.

Sure enough, a massive rainbow soon stretched across the sky. For a moment, I considered abandoning my hot steak and photograph it. But I decided to enjoy dinner, take in the view, and wait for sunset.

About an hour later, right as the sun was setting, the sky completely transformed into a wall of color and I was lucky to capture the moment.

I may have missed the rainbow, but I think I was rewarded with something even better.
