I used to hate doing headshots. 😅

Not because I didn’t love photography—but because adults have a really hard time looking at photos of themselves. The pressure, the awkwardness, the “I don’t know what to do with my hands” feeling… it’s real.

Somewhere along the way, though, I got good at what it takes to do this… making people feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Over the years, I’ve developed a whole process to help people relax, feel confident, and actually enjoy being photographed. That’s why my favorite way to create headshots is during a full one-on-one session where we have time to connect, experiment, and bring out your personality. That’s where the magic really happens ✨

But I also know that sometimes you just need a simple update.

That’s why at networking events, I offer the “quick version.” In about 15 minutes, we move fast, keep things light, and focus on getting at least one solid photo you can feel good about.

Is it the same as a full session?

No.

But if you need a fresh photo for LinkedIn, your website, business card or an upcoming opportunity—it absolutely works. 👍

And honestly… there’s something pretty satisfying about proving that even in 15 minutes, you can look like yourself—and like it.

It wasn’t just about me.
It wasn’t just about the women.
It wasn’t just about the portraits.

I’ve been looking through the photos from my 40 Over 40 event, captured by Tyler Franz, and I keep coming back to the same thoughts… this wasn’t just about photos.

It was about all of it.

The emotion.
The growth.
The wisdom in the room.
The stories shared.
The experience of showing up as we are.
The community that formed along the way.
The goals reached… and yes, the tears shed. 💛

This project was so much work—more than most people will ever see—but every single minute was worth it.

Looking through these photos reminds me why we take photographs in the first place…
So we can relive the most precious moments over and over again.
So we can feel the energy of a room long after it’s quiet.
So we can even have brand new experiences of an event, just by seeing it through someone else’s lens.

These images take me right back to that night—to the hugs, the laughter, the pride, the deep sense of connection.

And honestly… I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. ✨

If “I need to post more” has been on your to-do list for months… this is for you.

I hear my business owner friends say all the time how they need to show up on social media better. They “need to post more often” and “need to be better about it”. And it always makes me feel sad that they’re missing out on the great marketing opportunities that exist on social media- mostly for free.

After feeling overwhelmed and burnt out with social media myself, I came up with a process for making it easier for me to be consistent and show up on social media.

Lots of people have noticed. When I see people in real life they make comments about my social media and how well my business is doing.

I use the platform Trello to keep track of all of my social media content and re-purpose it so that I’m not constantly having to come up with something new and then just giving up on the whole thing.

A few years ago, I hired a VA to help me stay consistent with social media and when I hired her I was able to hand over my Trello board so that she had ready to go content and didn’t have to spend too much time learning about me and my business and trying to create content that sounded like me. Over the past 4 years we have collaborated through the Trello board and it’s been super successful.

Let me share this process with you so that you can show up on social media with ease too!
