Alexandra & Alexander…yup, you’ve read that right, or as they commonly go by Alex (squared), and many other awesome nicknames, celebrated their love in front of their family and friends at the always amazing Taylor Mountain Ranch in Maple Valley. This was the very first wedding that Alexis and I photographed there together, and it was a blast. The couple had amazing explosive energy, and were up for all the fun we wanted to have with posing and direction. The results are romantic, quirky, and whimsical. We loved spending time with them and their wedding party. Good fun all around.

Plan was to meet at 6:30am at a small alpine lake along the Naches Peak Loop Trail. What this means is that I (Keith) have to hike there and wait in location and just act like a tourist taking photos. The proposal happens at a distance and I capture it from afar candidly. NOPE, not today. Today I saw a scene that refused to be walked by. Orange glowing light sneaking its way through clouds, fog, and mist. It lit up the sky so beautifully, and I felt it was worthy of today’s couples big moment. So, I stopped and took some photos. Then I continued to stand there and admire the vista. Slowly behind me I hear footsteps approaching. A nice gentlemen had requested I take a photo of the two of them with his phone. So, naturally, I placed them in the best spot for when the photographer in me takes over with my camera. I take the phone photo and then hand it back, all while backing up and waiting for him to assume position. And then…

…Anthony & Victoria had their moment.

It’s hard not to take notice that proposals have become a VERY regular part of our offerings. Keith has been dedicating tons of time to deliver on his craft and commitment to these couples, to make sure that everything goes smoothly. One of the biggest challenges of photographing proposals is the element of surprise. The proposer will reach out and present a plan, and most times it fits the mold of what is possible in reality. Johnny has the idea of proposing at sunset, which leaves very little time for portraits after the proposal. So, we shifted gears a little and met at an alpine lake for the proposal about an hour before sunset. This gave us ample time with natural light to get some stunning portraits of Johnny & Janette. This one was super fun, and I hope to do more like them in the near future.

Had an outstanding time getting to know Emily & Martin, their beautiful family, and amazing group of friends. When we first met, we all know we were going to get along really well, that relationship continued and blossomed for their big day. What we ended up with was a couple that felt comfortable in front of our cameras, and the jokes were flying all day. This was such a fun wedding to shoot, because of the people involved. We’d do it all over again if we could. Hope they continue the relationship and use us for family photos for many years to come.

Many miles were hiked in Mount Rainier National Park, for not one, but two beautiful proposals in one day. One as the sun came up over the mountains, and the other as the sun went down. Logan & Paige were the first up, with gorgeous morning light peeking through the trees. Their proposal took place in a meadow trail with Mount Tahoma right behind them, and it was epic. We then hikes Naches Peak to a lovely alpine lake. The natural beauty leaves so many options for beautiful compositions, and I went for as much variety as possible. Wanted to make sure to showcase their love, as well as the lush sweeping landscapes of wildflowers and evergreens. Among all of the landscapes, Logan & Paige’s love was shining as bright as the morning sun.

Hard to narrow it down just to 10, so I posted a story with nearly 70 photos in it. This was an interesting maneuver due to wildfires in Mount Rainier. Sadly, we couldn’t use the intended location there. So, we shifted to Olympic National Park, at the gorgeous Ruby Beach. Oh, and she showed up with mist and romance for Emma & Kenneth. Kenneth popped the question at a distance for a more intimate setting, and then allowed me to create an artistic proposal for them. See the first 2 photos.

Really enjoyed spending time with two of them, and hope there will be more in the future.

We love when different cultures are presented to us. Not only do we appreciate and respect the traditions, but really love the attire related to those cultures. Hindu ceremonies are among some of our favorite to photograph. Varsha & Mat brought love and joy to their day in a big way, and we enjoyed capturing it all. The colors were bold and vibrant, just like their chemistry.

Maria-Viktoria & Jorian were tucked away, off the main road, in the privacy of a beautiful and charming rustic church property here in Tacoma. The property came complete with a cute bridge, an apple orchard, and fir trees. It also came complete with an outpouring of love and support from their family and friends. They kept things casual, and simply enjoyed mingling with their guests, while everyone there enjoyed celebrating their love for one another.

Sometimes you just do something from the heart.

While photographing a proposal session at Mount Rainier, I came across a couple with a few friends taking photos with a consumer level camera. So, I stepped in and asked if they wanted a few photos and that I would send them to them to enjoy. The lighting wasn’t perfect, and neither was the weather, but the couple looked amazing, and they deserved a beautiful portrait. So, here they are…
