Most Serious Putter. 🏆

That's the award. That's the face. I stand by both.

Had a great night with the Master Builders Association of Pierce County at their mini golf networking event. Blindfolded putts, a lot of laughing, and a trophy I'll be displaying with absolutely zero humility.

Truthfully, nights like this are why I love working with builders and trades. Nobody's pitching anyone. You just play a round, trade stories, and find out who builds what around here. That's where the real connections happen.

Your customers can tell when your photos aren't from here.

Generic stock looks like everywhere and nowhere: the same handshake, the same skyline, the same smiling stranger with a laptop. People in Puyallup know what Puyallup looks like. When your website shows Pioneer Park, it tells them you're part of this community, not a business that could be anywhere.

That's what custom local stock is. It's a library of high-quality photos made for your business, in your town, that you can use everywhere: your website, social posts, ads and newsletters. The photos look professional and they feel local.

Hiring a photographer? Price is the last thing you should be looking at — not the first.

The right fit comes down to whether they understand your business, whether their style matches your brand, and how well they communicate before you ever step in front of the lens. A great photographer makes you comfortable, guides you, and thinks about your long-term growth — not just a one-off gallery. Cheap photos that don't convert cost more than good ones that do.

My youngest employee got promoted. He's now a tour guide.

"Welcome to Wright Park. On your left, the ramp. Reinforced. On your right, the slide. Tested personally, many, many times."

Big thanks to and the team at Wildwood Carpentry for the safety upgrades. It was great to have one of our favorite Tacoma parks open in time to enjoy it this summer, and it was a fun one to photograph.

Most of my work is branding: business owners, teams, the people behind a name. So when Liberty Events/The Revolution asked me to photograph the Rev, I shot it the same way. If you wear glasses every day, your headshot probably should too.

Most people take them off because they're worried about glare. Glare comes from where the light sits, not the glasses, and it's fixable during the session. Point 3 is the one nobody thinks of until it's too late: lenses that darken in sunlight.

Bring your frames. I'll handle the rest.

If putting yourself out there online makes you cringe a little — you're in good company, and it doesn't have to stay that way.

Here's the reframe: showing up isn't showing off. Your audience connects with a face, and being visible is how the right customers find and trust you. You don't have to be perfect or go all-in overnight. Start small, focus on serving rather than performing, and know it gets easier every time.

Your work is better than your photos. Let's fix that.

Homeowners are deciding whether to trust your crew in their house. Good tradespeople are deciding whether your company is worth working for. Both look at your photos first.

A dark phone shot of a finished room doesn't show what you actually do. The skill is in the process: the beam going up, the crew dialed in, the moment that only happens once.
