These people are my hero’s.
They will go down in MY history book as the bravest strongest fighters. Fighting for kindness, acceptance, and love. Thank you to the staff of PROMO Missouri for your hard work and fight that you do every single day.

I’m back from vacation 💕💕💕

We were lucky enough to figure out a last minute vacation. I had a spontaneous moment and booked a hotel that had a deal, badda bing badda boom- we were on a plane to the beach.

We had such needed family time together. And my favorite moments were when me and the kids would float in the ocean and my ears were in the water and it was quiet and I could see the sun through my closed eyes in the water and felt so much joy and gratefulness to be alive and have this beautiful life.

We ended up being in an area where everyone clearly had different views than us … and it was quite apparent.

I wear “rose colored glasses” (that I am aware of) and I should have taken them off when booking this trip… but I didn’t….
and it happened.

I was truly scared.

I took off my pride watch band, I told the kids NOT to talk about pride month or trans people loudly because I wasn’t sure what someone might say or do if they overheard. I was overly aware of where we sat and who we were near because I did want the kids to overhear anything harmful.

I would look around at my scenery and it would be beautiful beaches and my sweet kids playing and Doug being the best dad and then I would look over and see a hat on someone that reminded me that that person supports people who think my child shouldn’t exist. Thinks Doug and I should be in jail for parenting the way we do…

Every time I took the kids to the public bathroom I was scared…

I saw the word freedom on so many t shirts and hats and this is not freedom.

I share this in honor of pride month. I hope when my kids are booking vacation when they are older they will feel safe anywhere in their own country. Unlike the way I felt this week.

And to everyone who has felt this way for any reason…. Sending you love.
