So. The whole SICK & DISGUSTING bs going on involving children and AI…
Here’s my take.

Do I love being able to post all of your family photos/kids photos? Absolutely. It helps me get more clients when they can see 1, that I work with kids, and 2, that I’m able to create beautiful images with even the most wild of children. (afterall, they’re the most fun for me to photograph lol!!)

BUT-Do I need to post them if you’re not comfortable with it? Absolutely not. All you gotta do when you book with me, is let me know you do not want your childs face shown in the photos. I will be happy to blur their face out, or even not post the ones with the children at all. Your wishes are respected over here. I have a whole lot of beautiful sessions i’ve done with children where I have not posted a single image, as much as I wish I could show them off to the world, respecting the parents preferences. And i’m totally 110% okay with that.

YOUR privacy & child/childrens safety comes before MY business.

Day 2 of picking up my camera to either practice something I know, or teach myself something new.

Today is the first time I GENUINELY tried with on camera flash. I usually use it off camera in a soft box, but even that I need more practice with. Quite different when the flash is on camera believe it or not…lol. It’s not like an iphone flash AT ALL for those of you who don’t understand how tricky learning flash actually is. And on top of that, I am NOT comfortable shooting mid day, so I doubled up and did flash work mid day.

I had a pretty hot model today to practice on too. Kinda pi**ed he didn’t pay me for his session this morning though…Not even a tip for my time. Pretty wack. I don’t think he’s gonna get a second date out of me after that. 😆 (He’s my husband…)

Def need more practice. Might just keep working on this over the next few days.

I'm curious what you guys think of these photos?

Models: My Rottweiler Harley, and my Staffordshire/lab mix Draco. Melvin refused to cooperate today. Maybe another day for him🤣

I'm making a commitment to myself that over the next 30 days, I pick up my camera every single day and practice. Session scheduled or not.

1) Practicing things I DO know, but could get better at.
2) Practicing things I don't know, but will add to my abilities, and strengthen me as a photographer.

Today is day 1.
I've been wanting to learn how to do double exposure work for quite a while. I know how to take 2 raw files, blend them together in photoshop and do this...But it's more time consuming. I have been wanting to figure out how to do this in camera. Since I had time tonight, I figured I might as well try.

These are my best shots from tonight. There was a lot of fails, don't get me wrong. Probably 75-80% of them were fails, and the others were just 'okay'. But these two....I am obsessed.

I'm going to keep practicing double exposures, and hopefully at some point make it a regular part of my sessions. Specifically for pet portraits.

I'll be posting things I'm practicing/learning here and there. I'm just not sure if my "day 1" can be beat. 😍
