Brenda Kay Photography www.brendakayphotography.com I’m an on-location photographer serving Sheboygan County and surrounding areas. This idea continues with all my clients.

I can’t begin to tell you how thrilled I am that you are considering Brenda Kay Photography to photograph your most precious moments! I am passionate about photography and aim to capture not only a “pretty picture,” but also your true, candid moments. I want you to cherish your pictures and have them serve as happy memories for a lifetime. My goal is to create a fun, stress free environment for all my clients. To this end, I believe that children should be just that, children. I let them run, jump, and play, all the while capturing their joyful innocence. My sessions are about you, your family, and all the things that make you unique. I am open to any new ideas you may have. Over the past few years, I have worked extremely hard to build a business and a reputation of offering you something different. I’m a little obsessed with this one. One day, these will be the photos you wish you could go back to.

Stephanie booked a fall family mini session for her and her sweet boy, Jaxson, and we couldn’t have asked for a better Monday! Perfect weather, no crowds, and a little guy who warmed up quickly (with a few goofy photos thrown in, of course).

This session took me back to when it was just me and my son, Colton. ❤️ I KNOW how much these photos can mean as the years fly by.

Because before we know it, this handsome 4-year-old will be scheduling his senior pictures. And you better believe I’ll be here for it! We might even have to recreate a few of these. 🥹

Bohde and I met up in Kohler on Saturday afternoon, walked the streets, talked, and just hung out. No big production. No pressure to know how to pose. Just keeping things simple and letting him be himself.
His mom couldn’t make it so his gallery will be a sweet surprise, but we made sure to get a little bit of everything:

✔️ Serious looks
✔️ Looking away
✔️ Smiling
✔️ A mix of natural, relaxed images he could choose from

I’ll guide you through posing, give you direction when you need it, and make sure we capture a variety of images without making the whole thing feel awkward or overly posed.

A few tips for senior guys:
📍 Wear something you feel comfortable in.
📍 Bring a couple of outfit options if you want variety.
📍 Don’t overthink the posing. I’ve got you!

Picking outfits can be one of the most stressful parts of planning your senior session, so I’m making it a little easier for you!

Here are 6 fall combos that photograph beautifully and give you that cozy, cute fall vibe:

THE PUMPKIN PATCH HAD OTHER PLANS FOR US…

We planned a fall senior rep team shoot at a local pumpkin farm, picturing a field FULL of pumpkins. Except… that’s not exactly what we got. 🙃

So, we pivoted, made it work, and had fun with it anyway! And these girls still rocked it.

Zeneddie had a vision for her senior photos… and I loved that she trusted me with it. 🌿

She knew she wanted trees.
Something earthy.
Something artistic.
Something that felt like her.

Zen is smart, loves school, and is such a talented artist, so I wanted her gallery to have the same creativity and personality she does.

She was also totally open to trying things.
We played with the sun.
We watched where the light was falling.
We moved around.
We tried different things.

And that’s how she’s ending up with a gallery that feels so different from one image to the next.

This is one of my favorite things about senior sessions. You can come in with an idea of what you want, but you don’t have to have every single detail figured out.

Unpopular opinion: the senior photos you’ll love most in ten years probably won’t be the ones where you’re perfectly posed.

After hundreds of senior sessions, I’ve learned A LOT. The galleries seniors love the most are the ones that feel authentic and completely them.

So, bring your real life into your session! Your letterman jacket, truck, dog, favorite coffee spot, sport, hobbies, or anything else that makes this season of life yours.
Because when you look back at your photos years from now, I want you to remember more than what you looked like. I want you to remember who you were and what made this time in your life so special.

The best senior photos could only ever belong to one person: you. I love creating sessions that are guided, laid-back, and completely you. Real, fun, and never cookie-cutter.

It seems my little assistant made friends at our team shoot. Her job was to make behind the scene videos, which she started, then played games with the girls. At least she recorded it 😂

Imagine me finally looking at my camera roll and seeing random games she was playing with everyone while I was doing individual images.
