I'm so excited to share that this fall's Children's Heirloom Portrait Event will be held at on Saturday, September 26!

If you've been to The Horseshoe Crab, you already know what a special place it is. The shop is beautifully curated with classic children's clothing, women's clothing, thoughtful gifts, home décor, accessories, and so much more. They carry many of the clothing brands I frequently recommend to my clients, making this partnership feel like such a natural fit.

Some things never go out of style.

A classic day gown. Soft white linens. A peacefully sleeping newborn.

It's no secret that I love a portrait that feels timeless. When I'm planning a newborn session, my goal is never to create something trendy. I want to create something that will feel just as beautiful 20 years from now as it does today.

That's why I keep the focus simple. Your baby doesn't need elaborate props or busy setups. Just a beautiful, classic portrait that lets this season speak for itself.

My hope is that these are the portraits you and your family treasure for generations.

Coordinating outfits for little ones is often one of the most stressful parts of planning portraits. My studio client closet is there to make that part easy for full session clients.

Instead of spending time shopping or buying outfits they'll likely only wear once, many of my families borrow clothing from the closet. Every piece has been chosen because it photographs beautifully and has a classic, timeless style that keeps the focus where it belongs...on your children.

Both of these sweet Feltman Brothers outfits came from the studio client closet, and I love how beautifully they coordinate. I already know this portrait will look so beautiful framed in the home of these precious little ones, and I can't wait for their mama to get it and enjoy it every day.

Little boys don't stay little for long. One day they're toddling around with big eyes and tiny smiles, and before you know it, they're missing teeth, playing sports, wearing a hoodie when it's 1000 degrees outside, and smelling like they sprayed an entire can of body spray all over them. 😆 That sweet little face changes so much in just a few short years.

Individual portraits of kiddos are always part of my family sessions because these sweet, in-between moments deserve to be remembered, too. I absolutely loved photographing this little guy in a classic Feltman Brothers Bobby Suit from my client closet and his precious knee socks and saddle oxfords from The Horseshoe Crab. These timeless portraits are the kind I know his mama will treasure long after those round baby cheeks are gone. 🤍

These portraits will be held over a few days in September and October, and there are a limited number of appointments available. This summer has been full of family sessions, and I've loved every minute of it. From studio sessions to evenings at the beach and parks, it's been so much fun getting to photograph so many families over the last few months.

And for anyone worried about the summer heat...it honestly hasn't been bad. Evening sessions have been surprisingly comfortable, and we've been rewarded with some beautiful light along the way.

I still have a few openings left before summer wraps up, but my fall calendar is already starting to fill. If family pictures are on your list this year, I'd encourage you to reach out sooner rather than later so we can find a date that works best for your family.

I seriously can't get over how much this little guy has grown. It doesn't seem that long ago that I was photographing him as a newborn, then seeing him again with Santa last year. Now he's turning ONE!

I've been photographing so many milestone sessions lately, and it's been so fun. I'm already booking into the fall, so if you have a little one celebrating a birthday or another milestone later this year, now is the time to get your session on the calendar. Fall fills up quickly, and I promise it'll be here before you know it. 🤍

If you ask Louie what he wants to do right now, the answer is probably one of two things: play with monster trucks or play golf.

It's been months, and neither obsession is slowing down. Monster trucks are lined up all over the house, and every time we drive past a golf course, he tries his best to convince me that today is the day we should stop and go golfing.

I know these "phases" don't actually last forever. One day, the monster trucks will end up in a box, and something else will take their place. That's exactly why I created "Childhood, Remembered."

This Wednesday, I'm photographing children with the one thing that feels like them right now. Maybe it's dinosaurs, dolls, dress-up clothes, trucks, books, ballet shoes, soccer balls, stuffed animals, art supplies...whatever they're carrying around everywhere these days.

These are simple studio sessions that celebrate this season of childhood before it quietly becomes the next one.

I still have both morning and afternoon/evening appointments available this Wednesday.

As a mom, I can tell you this with complete confidence...the newborn stage doesn't feel fast when you're in it.

You're tired. You're figuring out feeding. You're wondering if you will ever sleep again. Days somehow feel really long.

And then one day, you have a toddler who's climbed onto the kitchen counter while you turned your back for approximately 12 seconds, and you find yourself wondering where your tiny little newborn went.

Those little details don't stick around for long. The way they curl up so naturally. Their tiny fingers wrapped around yours. The sleepy stretches. The squishy cheeks that seem to change overnight.

Years from now, these portraits won't just remind you what your baby looked like. They'll remind you what it felt like to hold them when they were this little...before they were running through the house, asking a million questions, and somehow managing to leave sticky fingerprints on everything.
