A Wormsloe Proposal: When You Know It's Coming but Still Can't Believe It!

A year of love, a gorgeous ring, and one very happy bride-to-be!
Who says a proposal has to be a complete surprise to be unforgettable?
After one wonderful year of dating, he was ready to ask her to spend forever with him. And what better place to pop the question than the breathtaking Wormsloe Historic Site in Savannah, Georgia?
Now, here's the funny part: she already knew the proposal was coming!
But did that make her any less excited? Absolutely NOT!
Sometimes we photograph surprise proposals where the bride-to-be is completely caught off guard. But this proved that knowing what's about to happen doesn't take away one bit of the magic!
She was absolutely giddy, smiling from ear to ear, and completely overcome with happiness. And then there was THE RING!
Oh, that ring!
Even though she knew he was going to propose, she still couldn't believe the beautiful ring he had chosen. Her excitement was contagious, and those genuine, happy reactions are exactly what we love capturing at Dream Weaver Photos.
A Little Savannah Romance
Wormsloe is one of Savannah's most romantic proposal locations. With its breathtaking avenue of towering live oak trees draped in Spanish moss, it's practically made for love stories.
It became the perfect setting for the beginning of their next chapter.
After a year together, their love story is moving from dating to forever, and we couldn't be happier to have captured this special moment.

1. The stars may help choose the wedding date!
In many Hindu families, a priest, called a pandit, or an astrologer helps select an auspicious wedding date and time known as a muhurat. They may consult the couple's birth charts, the positions of celestial bodies, and the Hindu calendar to find a favorable time for marriage.
So instead of simply choosing a Saturday when the venue is available, some couples look to the stars!
2. The bride's hands can tell a beautiful story.
During a Mehndi celebration, intricate henna designs are applied to the bride's hands and sometimes her feet. In some traditions, the groom's name or initials are hidden within the designs for him to find!
3. The groom may arrive with his own parade!
In a tradition called the Baraat, the groom arrives accompanied by family, friends, music, and dancing. In some weddings, he even arrives on a decorated horse!
Talk about making an entrance!
4. Seven steps can represent a lifetime together.
In many Hindu wedding ceremonies, the couple takes seven sacred steps, known as Saptapadi, symbolizing their shared commitments and journey through married life.
5. Some weddings are celebrations that last several days!
With events such as Mehndi, Haldi, Sangeet, the wedding ceremony, and reception, some Indian weddings become wonderful multiday celebrations filled with music, family, beautiful clothing, and meaningful traditions.
