Hey y'all! 👋🏻 Long post ahead.
First off, I am seriously so grateful for this community and the amount you've invested in me over the years. Whether you've booked a session, shared a post, left a comment, recommended me to a friend, or simply followed along on this journey, thank you. Your engagement on my page truly helped more than you know, and I appreciate every single one of you.
With all your support bringing some new eyes to my page lately, I thought it might be a good time to reintroduce myself!
I'm Nicky! I'm 27 years old, Lao-American, a wife to my high school sweetheart, and a mom to three hilarious kids who keep life interesting every single day. I'm a pretty simple girl. I love good food, good company, and if we're hanging out, there's a very high chance I'll eventually ask, "Are you hungry?" because I firmly believe most problems can be discussed over snacks. 👀 If you know, you know.
I've been a photographer in Salina, Kansas, for the past 6 years, capturing meaningful, timeless memories that families can look back on for generations. Some of the most important work I get to do is motherhood, newborn, families, and wedding photography. Being invited to document someone's journey from engagement photos, to wedding day, to newborn sessions, and eventually family photos is one of the biggest compliments I could ever receive.
Downtown Salina is also home to a studio that I co-own with my best friend, who just so happens to be an incredibly talented photographer herself. Looking back, I truly believe we were meant to open a studio together. You all have filled that space with so many memories, milestones, celebrations, and laughter, and we're so thankful for every opportunity you've given us.
A little more about me...
Current obsessions:
✨ The Mandalorian & Grogu!!! It's action-packed, funny, heartwarming, and somehow makes even non-Star Wars fans care deeply about a tiny green creature.
✨ McDonald's fries with EXTRA EXTRA salt and a Coke. Listen... I'm not saying it's medicine, but lately it's been doing more for my chronic migraines than I'd like to admit. 😅 And my car basically has a TV in it, so the experience has been elevated.
Some things you'll learn if you stick around here:
• I will always talk about food. Might even sneak in a fun fact.
• Star Wars references are unavoidable and I also have the Shark Tales Shrimp monologue almost memorized.
• I tear up during sentimental family moments and ceremonies at weddings more often than I care to admit.
• I genuinely love getting to know the people I photograph and love building relationships where you can just spill your heart to me. My lips are sealed.
I do one of these intro posts every 3-6 months, and somehow I always end up talking about food and Star Wars. At this point, I've accepted that this is just my personality and y'all will have to learn to love me for it. 🤣
The links will be active all weekend on my previous post and I'll deactivate them Sunday evening, so be sure to check them out while they're up!
If you got this far because you care about me, tell me where is your go to food spot and what you order! I'm hot wings all the way and a mac and cheese at BWW's 🤤
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Stay cool, stay dry, hug your people, take the photos, and maybe go get some wings. 🫶🏻
