what should you wear to a photoshoot??

hey you! have you ever wondered what you should wear to your upcoming shoot? well i gotchu! here’s some easy guidelines to follow while choosing your outfit!

🌞outfit one should be your nicest outfit. one that you want to avoid getting messy later on. make sure your colors coordinate (especially if you’re doing a couples shoot)!

🌞outfit two should be more casual than outfit one! so you could wear jeans and a nice sweater or something similar.

🌞outfit three should be one that you don’t mind getting a little dirty in! this could be leggings with a cute sweater/flannel and a jean jacket!

if you’re wanting to do all three of these, make sure your last outfit fits into category three! this way if you end up rolling around on the ground or doing whatever crazy idea your photographer has for you, you don’t end up with messy hair or dirt on your face for your nicer photos!

🤍VULNERABILITY AHEAD🤍

🤍I am not going to lie to you. This is a hard caption for me to write, and the photos are hard for me to post. My whole life I have struggled with eczema, a skin condition which is essentially severe dry skin.

🤍I have always struggled with eczema and the fact that I have never been able to fully get rid of it. Vulnerability is not something I am very good at, but because my eczema is so visible, it is something I am forced to be vulnerable with.

🤍During big flare ups like the one in these photos simple tasks like showering, putting on lotion, or getting dressed can be daunting. At times I had to go days without showering because the pain was too much.

🤍I’m not telling you guys this so that you feel bad for me or take pity on me. I’m telling you this because I want to be transparent with you and show you that my life isn’t all the happy moments that I share on here. Life can be hard, but through the support of friends and family I’ve been able to find joy through all of it.

🤍The story behind these photos is quite entertaining, which might be a story for a different time 😉

🐮WHO LOVES COWS?!🐮

🐮This shoot was SO much fun. Tabitha and Seth are the second couple that I have ever had the privilege of doing a shoot with. It went so well and they were SO easy to work with!

🐮Each time I do a shoot I always have the couple slow dance together. This is my favorite part because I get to watch as they look at one another with so much love, and I feel so honored that I get to capture it for them.

🐮Toward the end of the session we walked over to the cows. They were so chill and just watched as I took photos of Tabitha and Seth. The lighting was absolutely perfect which made for some amazing golden hour shots.

🐮All this to say I think this was the most Kansas shoot I’ve ever done, and I absolutely loved it.

🐮I think my favorite midwest quirk is our love for ranch 🤣

🍃MY FIRST COUPLE🍃

🍃Carly and Michael are the first couple I have ever taken photos of. To say I was nervous at the beginning is an understatement. Not only was it my first couple shoot, but we also went during a time of day that I had never really shot in before.

🍃These two were amazing and just went with every pose/prompt I gave them. The lighting ended up being much easier to work with than I thought it would, and we got some amazing shots in the end!

🍃If you have trouble shooting in harsh morning/afternoon light, here are some tips for you!

🔥Your photos will turn out much better if you BACKLIGHT them. This will prevent harsh shadows on their face.

🔥Use shady areas to your advantage. If you find an area with trees, you can use the light through the trees to create some very unique photos.

🔥Lastly if you do have them look toward the sun, have them close their eyes before the photo is taken, and do a 3, 2, 1 countdown. This will help to avoid a whole lot of squinting in your photos.

⛰PEAK EMPOWERMENT⛰

⛰This past summer I did something I never thought I’d do… I climbed TWO mountains in ONE day. Hiking Grays and Torreys is one of the most fun but also difficult things I have ever done.

⛰We began our hike at 3:30 am. We started off strong but quickly realized that in order to make it the whole way through this hike we would need to go at our own pace, and take breaks when we need to. We peaked Grays just before 8 am. When we arrived we took time to refuel our bodies so we would have enough energy to make it to the next peak.

⛰With 65+ MPH winds, and loose cobble, I began to feel like I couldn’t make it to the next peak. I wanted to give up, turn around, and go home, but I didn’t let myself.

⛰I CLIMBED TWO MOUNTAINS IN ONE DAY!!!

⛰I am so glad that I didn’t give up. The feeling of making it to the second peak is incredible. I felt as if I could do anything. We often hear the saying "move a mountain" but I think we should start saying "climb a mountain." In life, you will have many mountains to climb.

⛰You have to remember that IT’S OKAY to take breaks along the way to give your body what it needs. IT"S OKAY to be passed by other people on your way up, as long as you do everything in your power to make it up the mountain, whatever that mountain may be for you.

⛰When you feel yourself starting to get burned out, take the time you need to stop, breathe, and nourish your body. Once you make it to the top of the mountain, you will feel more empowered than you ever have in your life.

⛰On the drive back down the mountain right after we finished the hike I sent Jerzee a text which read: "You feel empowered, and the best part is that the empowerment you feel comes from yourself. Not your friend. Not your boyfriend/girlfriend. It comes from YOU the moment you say “I know this is gonna hurt like hell, but I’m going to do it because I know that I can.”

I’ve had this account for a long time now, and noticed that I haven’t introduced some of the most important people/places in my life. So, that’s what I’m going to do over the next few days…

Today’s person is my boyfriend, Stoughton. We’ve been dating for 2 years and 9 months! These are just some of my favorite qualities that I see in him:

✨He’s kind
✨He’s makes me laugh
✨He makes me feel beautiful
✨He asks about my day
✨And most importantly I never have to question his love for me

Hello everyone!! The recent decision to cancel school for the rest of the year has been hard on all of us.

We don’t get to participate in some of our biggest lasts, but we can still make the most of our last days as high schoolers.

In lieu of this unfortunate decision, I am offering $20 cap and gown mini sessions! You can also bring your prom dress/tux if you’d like :)

STOP LETTING SATAN DECIDE WHAT YOU THINK OF YOURSELF!!!

Guys. Can you believe that God has an INFINITE amount of love for us?!? I get a headache trying to think about how much love that is because it is so unfathomable!

Speaking negative, self-degrading words to ourselves is SO much easier than speaking words of truth that build us up. Satan puts lies in our heads, but when we rest in God’s love and recognize that in HIS eyes we are perfect, it is SO much easier to speak truths over ourselves.

I have a challenge for you each morning. I want you to look in the mirror and say at least ONE positive affirmation to yourself. Things like “you are SMART,” “you are ENOUGH,” “and you are BEAUTIFUL.”
