In addition to playing, I also got to ref my first public event!!

Living with a chronic disability, my goal for derby has always been longevity.

I live with grade 1 retrololisthesis (spondylolisthesis). Look that s**t up, it’s wild. I deal with pain nearly every day and I know my days as a player will be limited because of my condition. Hence my interest in reffing and still getting my skate time.

I had such a blast roleplaying as Fibonacco for a day.

Cannot wait to ref more games.

One of my most mentally challenging games to date. As im still growing, I’m learning that derby comes with so many of those days, but you just keep coming back cause how amazing this sport is. SO PROUD of my team, Ursa Major Destruction Sacramento Roller Derby I love you guys

What an insane day!!!

Round two of back to back games, jamming for both this time.

Officially an Ursa Major 🌟🐻

Certainly have LOTS of notes for myself coming out of these games. Mentally and physically… but such an incredible day of derby overall and I got to take home an mvp award (As a prehistoric nerd, I’m truly obsessed with the plesiosaur on skates)

Immediately booked it after the games to see Molchat Doma. c r a z y day.
