People love seeing massive displays of Northern Lights, and I can’t blame them. That said, it’s always nice to see any display down in the lower 48. This small band glided nicely in the northern sky last weekend, and was very photogenic.

A lovely display over a swamp off the Gunflint Trail from the other night. Been a few years since I’ve been here, and I won’t be back until at least one frost. The mosquitoes were so bad here I thought they were having an all you can eat dinner with me as the main course! Anyway, any display of Aurora is always nice. The pillars were visible and so was the arc on the northern horizon. Hope to get a big display soon!

Pointer dogs are my favorite thing in the world. Don’t believe me? Look at my logo in the bottom right of this photo. This Wild Wolf decided to do the “point” for me up on the Gunflint this past winter, and is still one of the most amazing moments of my life!

I’ve really enjoyed shooting on my full spectrum modified Sony a7iv here the last few months. The best part has been the way it captures displays of Northern Lights, naturally pulling out colors in different shows. This is one of those times and the way this photo pops with limited edits is so satisfying!
