Hi, I’m Andrea - a wedding and elopement photographer and this is what “location scouting” looks like before a destination wedding or elopement. Arriving a few days before the scheduled wedding date is key, and already having a plan of places I plan to scope out but being open to pivoting if something else catches my eye. During my scouting of the Faroe Islands last October ahead of an elopement there at Hotel Torshavn, I encountered few humans and so many animals - this place is like no other I’ve ever had the privilege to visit and work in 🥰

Kinda in my feels after we watched history be made yesterday - and within that, a great display of love. Watching a man name a crater after his late wife brings new meaning to “I love you to the moon and back” and it’s not lost on me how special it is that we as wedding photographers get to document so many couples sharing this same level of love for each other. While we run around the vineyards at sunset together, the moon continues to bear faithful witness to it all just as the poets have suggested 🥰

It wouldn’t be fair to call this a STRANGER SESSION because these two had technically seen photos of each other on a dating app, and had chatted a little bit over the phone. But when they floated the idea of photographing their first date to me, I decided that this would be called A NEARLY Stranger Session 😜 They were nervous, but INSTANTLY had a natural connection and could not stop giggling with each other. I’m hoping for a good outcome for these two 🤗 would you do a nearly stranger session?

Traveled across the Atlantic Ocean to capture these two nýgifta (newlyweds in Faroese) in the Faroe Islands, an archipelago within the Kingdom of Denmark ✈️ some of Amy’s family and her bestie were able to join us on their elopement, which meant they were wrapped in love as they said their vows. We all drove around the islands together to sight see and take in the waterfalls + sheep, and enjoyed dinner and wine together in Torshavn with SO MUCH LAUGHTER! Eternally grateful for my adventurous clients who believe that love stories deserve to documented and told in their own unique ways and trust me to do just that 🫶🏼

Passion is a language only the heart speaks, and Drew + Annie seem to have their own dialect. I witnessed them get lost in each other’s eyes, bashfully smile at one another, giggle without me even knowing what they were giggling at, and wrap each other up in love over and over 🤍 they don’t know how to be nonchalant with it and it’s so beautiful to witness!
