Last week, I had the opportunity to attend a Lunch & Learn hosted by the Black Hills Home Builders Association, and it was incredibly insightful. Heather, presenting on behalf of , shared valuable information about AI and the ways it is already shaping businesses and industries around us.

I’m especially thankful to be part of the Networking of the Black Hills Tuesday group, where Heather first mentioned the event. The interest was so overwhelming that the Lunch & Learn had to be moved to (Black Hills Federal Credit Union) to accommodate the crowd. Around 65 people showed up, all eager to grow, learn, and better understand the future of AI.

It’s inspiring to see so many businesses in the Black Hills investing in education, innovation, and connection. Thankful to have been part of it!

Some sessions just stay with you long after the portraits are delivered.

I’ve known this family for over 25 years, back to the days when David's mom was my landlord with my first studio. To now photograph her son graduating feels incredibly full circle.

Watching David reach this milestone, earn scholarships, and head off to college this fall is such a perfect reminder that every journey looks different… and every victory deserves to be celebrated BIG. 🎓

His mom texted me afterward and said the portraits made her tear up, and honestly… that touched my heart. That is why I do this!

These Cap & Gown sessions are about so much more than portraits. They’re about honoring growth, resilience, family, memories, and the people who walked beside us through every season.

Great reminders

Day of Excellence 2026 is TOMORROW!

Here are your final reminders:

Doors open at 7:30am. Arrive early to beat the parking rush, grab your coffee, and find your seat.

Doors close at 8:25am for the National Anthem, performed by Amalia Schmaltz and James Allen. They will not reopen until the presentation is complete.

Bring a water bottle. Water stations will be available to refill throughout the day.

Wear your company logo and bring business cards for networking breaks.

Lunch runs from approximately 11:45am to 1:15pm. Make reservations if you are eating with a group. The Gold Bison Grill at DoubleTree by Hilton Rapid City Downtown Convention Center has a buffet, and downtown Rapid City businesses are ready for you.

Visit the Pixel Studios photo booth during breaks for the chance to capture the day.

We close at 4:30pm. Watch the countdown timers so you are back in your seat on time after breaks.
