One of the best parts of pictures is being able to capture the moments of joy for others.
This little love was not even a full week old when I got to meet her. She was so sweet and full of snuggles.
While I miss my littles being, well, little, the greatest joy as a parent is watching them grow. I miss the little tucked in feet!

These parents are only just starting their journey and they are doing absolutely fantastic!

Remember that winter QUEEN from December???
She had the most handsome little man a few weeks ago!
This beautiful family was gracious enough to let me into their home to capture some newborn photos. He was such a little snug-bug and his sister was the best helper!

We only have one life to live. Our littles do not stay little for very long, so capture all those little faces while you can!

Braving the cold, we got out for a maternity shoot this last weekend! Couldn't have asked for a better couple to work with!
At just under 35 weeks pregnant, she took the trek through the snow to Spearfish Falls.

It was picture perfect!

This momma looks so beautiful! She's the winter queen we all want to be!

While the big show was on the 11th, I was able to make it out on the 12th to Sylvan Lake where I got to watch the lights dance in the sky and the water. It wasn't the storm I was hoping for, but it was still amazing to witness.
The 11th and the 12th was also the peak of the Northern Taurids meteor shower. These are meteors that are usually slow moving. So while some meteor's flash before your eyes, these ones allow you to really take in their beauty as they streak across the sky. Two images include one of these meteors, and they are my favorite!
While I'm still learning the whole time-lapse thing, I'm pleased with my second ever time-lapse. This one is comprised of over 500 images spanning over 2 hours.

Went out to the Badlands to try and capture the Comet Lemmon as it was closer to the Earth. Took a minute to find it, but we did! The later in the evening we went, the lower it got on the horizon, and the harder it became to see with the light pollution.
Even though the viewing time wasn't as long as I'd have liked, we were met with some beautiful airglow that brought some colors out. In one image, I utilized my wide angle lens to get not only the comet, but the Big Dipper just to the north of the comet!

Also was able to snag a few of the Milky Way as it lowers in the horizon for the season. I hadn't been out much this year, so had to grab a few before it was over!

A good friend of mine got a new tarantula (antilles pink toe tarantula)! As juveniles, these tarantulas are blue in color, and the coloring will shift to a mixture of colors as they age and molt. This type of tarantula is known for being calm and docile. While watching my friend move the baby from the small temporary home to their new enclosure, they did become skittish and ran on her hands and arms, but never once did they attempt to bite. Im excited to watch the colors change on this little one as it grows!

My little turned one and I am still in disbelief!
We went for a cake smash, but it came out more like a cake pick. 🤣

Instead of fists full of cake like she does with spaghetti, she lightly picked at it as if so dainty!

She had a space theme for her party and this momma knows why I take pictures and am not a party planner! Here I thought parties were just normal stress, and then we made a balloon arch. My 10 year old and I spent HOURS blowing up balloons. Putting together a balloon arch was the bane of my existence!
The true testament of love is putting together a balloon arch. I would do it again for any of my littles, but I'll complain the whole way through!

I've gotten out for some northern lights here and there. Less than a week after little was born, we went out as a family to see the lights. Our family photo is blurry, but I still love it as we did it together! PJs and all!!

In addition, I've included photos from a few different northern lights adventures over the last year!

Hopefully we'll get to see more coming up over the next year+ and hoping to get out for some milky way this summer!
