ONE PALETTE, SO MANY POSSIBILITIES

One of my favorite things about creating color palettes is that they aren’t designed for one specific family size.

A family of 3 can use the same palette as a family of 5, 6, or even 10! The trick isn’t assigning one color to each person—it’s using the palette as a guide.

Start with one patterned piece and pull your colors from it. From there, colors can be repeated throughout the family in different ways. One person might wear an olive dress, while someone else has olive pants. Rust might be a full outfit on one child but only show up subtly in the pattern someone else is wearing.

You can also use different shades and textures within the same color family to keep things interesting without adding more colors.

The goal is never for everyone to match.

It’s for everyone to look like they belong together. 🤎

So whether you’re dressing 3 people or 8, don’t overthink it. Pick a palette you love, choose one print, pull from those colors, add some texture, and build from there.

That’s how you get a family wardrobe that feels coordinated, natural, and beautiful without looking matchy-matchy. 📸

PSA: BUSY SEASON TURNAROUND TIMES
September through January is my busiest season of the year, so I wanted to give everyone a little reminder about gallery turnaround times!

During these months, my turnaround time is typically 3–4 weeks. My normal turnaround time throughout the rest of the year is 2–3 weeks.
I know waiting for your photos can be hard when you’re excited to see them, and I truly appreciate your patience! I always try to be as transparent as possible about turnaround times before you book so you know exactly what to expect.

I do offer a $50 rush option, which guarantees your completed gallery within one week.

Rush must be added at the time of booking and cannot be added after your session has already taken place.
I put a lot of time and care into every gallery, and during busy season I’m working through sessions in the order they were photographed. I promise your photos are worth the wait!

Why you won’t see me recommending a ton of light blue & white for sessions 🤎📸

There’s a reason I’m always encouraging my clients to reach for richer colors, warm neutrals, earth tones, and texture. It isn’t because blue and white aren’t beautiful—they just don’t always photograph the way I want them to for my style of photography.

A lot of clothing fabrics reflect the light and colors around them. Very light colors, especially bright white and pale/cool blues, can create cool-toned reflected light or color casts on the skin, particularly under certain lighting conditions. That can leave skin with blue-ish or cool highlights that I then have to fight against while editing.

Bright whites can also pull your eye toward the clothing instead of the people, and they don’t give me the same richness and depth that I love in an image.

My photography style is warm, rich, natural and true-to-life. I love colors that complement skin tones and bring warmth and dimension into the photograph—rust, olive, mustard, brown, oatmeal, denim, deeper blues, warm neutrals, etc.

That doesn’t mean you can NEVER wear white or blue! A beautiful textured oatmeal or cream is completely different from a stark white T-shirt, and a rich navy or muted blue photographs very differently than a super-light baby blue.

There really is a method behind my styling madness. 😂🤎

When I send you color palettes and outfit suggestions, I’m not trying to change your personal style. I’m helping you choose clothing that works with my photography style and gives you the finished look you hired me for. 📸

The easiest way to coordinate outfits for photos 🤎

Feeling overwhelmed trying to figure out what everyone should wear? Start with ONE patterned piece.

Find a dress, shirt, flannel, skirt, or other item with a print you love. Then use that piece as your color palette!

Pull 3–4 colors from the pattern and use those colors for everyone else’s outfits. Mix in solids, different textures, denim, knits, or layers so everyone coordinates without looking like you’re wearing matching uniforms.

✨ Pattern → pull the colors → build the outfits.

For example, if your pattern has rust, cream, olive, and brown, one person can wear the pattern while everyone else wears different solids pulled from it.

You don’t have to match. You just need to coordinate. 🤎

I’m Just a Small-Town Photographer 🤎

I don’t want to be famous.
I don’t need to go viral.
I don’t dream of having hundreds of thousands of followers.

I just want to take beautiful pictures of people. I want to capture the moments that pass way too quickly and give families something they can hold onto long after those moments are gone.

I want to build connections within my community, know the families in front of my camera, watch their babies grow, and live my simple little life doing something I genuinely love.

Photography is my creative outlet, but it’s also part of how I help take care of my family.

Every session booked is an order of groceries.
Every extra photo purchased might pay for one of my girls’ extracurriculars.
Every referral, share, comment, and person who tells a friend about me helps me continue contributing to the life we’re building for our family.

When you support a small photographer, your money doesn’t disappear into some huge company. You’re supporting a real person behind that camera. A mom. A family. Someone doing a little happy dance when that booking notification comes through. 😂

I’m just one person in a small community with a camera, a creative heart, and some pretty tiny dreams.
