A room full of warm light, tiny yawns, and a toddler’s footsteps.

It is the greatest privilege to capture a family during these fleeting weeks and watch a new chapter begin. Big brother brought the giggles, baby brought the peace (after asserting his dominance over us for a while lol), mom and dad brought a love that completely filled the room.

I knew the bluebonnets at Starved Rock would be perfect for this first birthday shoot, I am so glad we were able to catch them at their peak!

A first birthday is so much more than just a milestone for the baby; it’s celebrating a full year of growth, laughter, and deep love for mom and dad too. It was beautiful to watch them just pause and feel the love in the blooms. 🌿✨🪻

I am also loving the smash cakes this year, they are so fun to do. Every child reacts differently, it always ends up such a fun and special experience I am so honored to be able to capture. 💖🎂✨️

but this time I made sure to step into the frame 🤍
It's easy to always be the one capturing it all, but these are the moments I am always telling clients not to miss. I decided to take my own advice.

Edit- I had to repost...I had over 70 heartfelt images and I posted the 8 that were on my phone 😅 it literally kept me up at night. Now you can feel more of the joy in this sessions story! 🤍
