I’m hosting a real Stranger Session Christmas setup, but this time, you get to come behind the scenes and photograph it with me.

I don’t think I’ll ever fully have the words for what this means to me. 🤍

When Kayden and Madison walked into their Stranger Session, they were just two people who had never met. I had no idea that the photos I was taking that day would end up being the very beginning of a love story I’d eventually get to watch all the way to the altar.

They met in December, got engaged in August, and on October 4th, I watched them become husband and wife. 💍

This one feels especially surreal because Kayden is Jordan’s brother, which means the girl who showed up to a Stranger Session became my sister-in-law. What started as an idea to introduce two strangers somehow brought someone into our family.

I’ve photographed a lot of first dates, connections, proposals, and moments that I hoped might turn into something more, but this is the first time I’ve gotten to see one of my Stranger Sessions become a marriage.

My first Stranger Session wedding. My first time watching the whole story unfold from the very beginning.

And honestly, I think I’ll always be a little emotional knowing that I got to be there when two complete strangers met… and somehow, they found their way here. 🤍

STRANGER SESSION-

Hunter + Caroline

I think I loved this Stranger Session so much because… imagine carving pumpkins as your first date 🎃🍂

You literally meet for the first time and instead of sitting across from each other at some awkward dinner trying to think of things to talk about, you’re immediately elbow-deep in pumpkin guts together.

You’re laughing, making a mess, roasting each other’s pumpkin carving skills, and somehow by the end of it you have a bunch of cute pictures together. (LOTS OF LAUGHING)

THAT is the kind of first date I want 😂

I love that Stranger Sessions don’t have to feel like a date you’d normally go on. They can be weird, fun, random, spontaneous… and you get to actually DO something together instead of just sitting there trying to make conversation.

Also… pumpkin head pictures on a first date?? I’m sorry but I’m obsessed. 🎃😂

Now I need to know… what random fall activity should I make strangers do next? 🍂

Maybe your village doesn’t always look like the people you were born into.

Sometimes God gives you people who become family.

And yesterday just reminded me that even though my family isn’t close by, I’m not doing this alone.
