WARNING: Personal Post Incoming🥹

Well… this feels a little surreal to post on this account. 🥹💍

I’ve spent so much of my life behind the camera capturing other people falling in love, getting engaged, getting married, and stepping into the next chapter of their lives. I’ve cried behind my camera, celebrated with strangers who quickly became friends, and told so many love stories through my lens.

But last night, for once, I wasn’t the one holding the camera. (Technically I was since I was about to shoot another stranger session and had no idea it was coming)

Jordan asked me to marry him. 🤍

And somehow, after photographing so many proposals, I still had absolutely no idea how emotional it would be to experience my own. There’s something so different about realizing the moment you’ve captured for other people over and over again is suddenly happening to you.

I’m still processing all of it — the surprise, the nerves, the tears, the excitement, and the fact that I get to call this man my fiancé. 🥹

I’ll never stop being grateful that my job allows me to witness so much love, but getting to have this moment for myself will forever be one of my favorite stories to tell.

So here’s a little piece of last night. The moment everything changed. 💍

She has apparently been waiting for this moment for YEARS, so watching her realize who was sitting across from her son was priceless.

Plot twist: I had NO idea these two already knew each other. 😂

Their parents have been friends for years, so these two had actually crossed paths before… but when they applied for a Stranger Session, I had no idea there was already a connection there. 👀

Then I matched them, completely unaware of the backstory, and everything started making a LOT more sense.

Apparently his mom has been hoping for YEARS that these two would finally talk. 😂

1. PLAN THE DATE. Don’t ask her what she want to do every time.
2. PICK HER UP. Yes, she can drive herself. She just likes that you offered.
3. OPEN THE DOOR. It takes two seconds and says a lot.
4. BRING FLOWERS. They don’t have to be expensive.
5. WALK HER TO HER DOOR. Especially at night.
6. PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY. Give her your attention.
7. FOLLOW UP AFTER THE DATE. “I had a great time” goes a long way.
8. BE INTENTIONAL. Don’t make her guess what you want from her.
9. PAY FOR THE DATE. Not because she can’t, but because you want to treat her.
10. COURT HER. Don’t just casually date her and hope something happens.

Chivalry isn’t dead. Some men just stopped practicing it…👀

If you’ve been following my stranger sessions for a while, you probably remember Kayden + Madison. Two strangers who turned a photoshoot and somehow tuned it into an actual LOVE STORY!

Well. I’ve been keeping a BIG SECRET!👀

KAYDEN + MADISON ARE ENGAGED!!💍😭

My first stranger session turned into a proposal! And the best part is that it’s my brother in-law! (Jordan’s brother just for those who were confused)😅

What started at setting two strangers up in front of my camera turned into him getting down on one knee!❤️

This is exactly why I started doing Stranger Sessions. Not because I knew what would happen, but the chance that I could shoot the moment that two people lives forever changed.
