In front of Michael’s on SR 200. We were told that this guy is up there most weekends. He’s an incredibly talented dude, definitely worth a couple bucks and a listen.

Morning walk with Stephanie Kirby. I am so deeply grateful for her existence. I absolutely love seeing people just chatting. Laughing. Chillin. Those are some of the best moments to capture and it would be so cool to just be invisible for a minute, to catch the small details, the moment the laughter hits it’s peak, the intensity of hand gestures, the hugs and handshakes. Humans just existing together. It’s beautiful.

Who’s your favorite band/bands? Why? Do you remember the moment you found them? What did that feel like? I never had my own music until I was like 14. Up to that point I only ever heard what other people listen to on the radio. My grandparents liked country, the rest of my family was classic rock. The first time I can recall finding a band that really really stuck with me was when I bought a copy of Sublime, “Second Hand Smoke”, it came with a shirt. I don’t remember why I chose them, I still hadn’t really developed any preferences at this point so it was probably a case of I had heard them somewhere and that’s the only band I could think of in the store. I legitimately listened to that album, almost exclusively, for months and months. I had been playing guitar for a bit by this point and I would try to play along. A ton of good memories attached to that album.

I have learned to stop questioning why things draw my attention and just take the damn shot. It’s far from fool proof and it doesn’t always result in great photos but over and over again I have proven to myself that I don’t always consciously pick up on things. That is not to say that I just spam the shutter and hope for the best. It’s more like responding to a feeling. It’s following instinct instead of analyzing on the spot. Not a perfect plan, but I’m not a perfect person.

My wife has a thing with skulls, there are so many all over the place. This one sits on the shelf below our wedding altar. Anyway, I looked at it and it reminded me of the uglyneighborband logo so I figured I’d try something. It’s been a minute since I did composite stuff.
