Bridal videos should absolutely become a wedding trend—and not just because they’re freaking beautiful. 🎥✨

So…what exactly is a bridal video?

Think of it as a pre-wedding photo and video session where you get dressed up, have your first look, and create all those dreamy couple portraits *before* the actual wedding day.

Olivia & Ahbi chose to have their bridal video filmed at San Francisco City Hall ahead of their wedding—and honestly? Genius behavior. 👏

By doing their first look and couple portraits early, they didn’t have to disappear for a long photo session on their actual wedding day. Instead, they could spend more time mingling, catching up with guests, and being fully present with the people who came to celebrate them.

No squeezing everything into a packed timeline.
No watching cocktail hour happen without you.
No rushing through portraits while wondering whether your guests are getting hungry.

Just a relaxed, intentional experience—and a cinematic film that lets you enjoy your wedding outfits and this season of your relationship all over again.

You also get the freedom to choose a completely different location, better lighting, or even a more adventurous experience without worrying about transporting your entire wedding party around.

More time together.
More creative freedom.
Less wedding-day timeline stress.

Seriously…why isn’t everyone doing this yet? 😆

Would you consider doing your first look and couple portraits before your wedding day?

Formalwear on top. Hiking boots underneath. Exactly how a Yosemite elopement should be.

These two hiked to Taft Point, met plenty of local wildlife along the way and turned the journey itself into one of the best parts of their wedding day.

That’s your reminder that an elopement can be more than vows and portraits.

Go for a hike.
Pack your favourite snacks.
Hit the sun.
Explore a trail.
Stop when you spot a deer doing its intimate business while maintaining direct eye contact with you.
Make a whole day of it.

You chose to elope in a national park for a reason, so give yourselves time to actually enjoy it.

Which wedding-day adventure would you choose: hiking, kayaking or a sunset picnic?

What if your wedding venue could move… and come with the San Francisco skyline as your backdrop? ⛵️💍

Instead of walking down an aisle inside a traditional venue, imagine sailing across the Bay with your favorite people, exchanging vows beside the Golden Gate Bridge, and watching the city drift past while you celebrate.

And here’s the best part: your yacht captain may also be able to officiate the ceremony, making the whole experience beautifully simple.

As their San Francisco wedding videographer, I’m so grateful I got to document this unique wedding experience as the boat moved through the Bay

No venue-hopping.
No sitting in traffic between photo locations.
Just ocean air, iconic San Francisco views, and one seriously unforgettable way to get married.

The romantic relationship between me & my city🖤

I was gifted a roll of b&w Ilford HP5 Plus 35mm film so naturally I wanna use it for good, meaning, this is a test on a good city before I use it on my good people out there🤗

Congratulations to J & C! 🥹🤍 And let this be your little reminder:

Your wedding day is automatically 1000x better when it actually feels like you.

Before their wedding day, we had already planned to visit a scenic spot near where they first moved in together, grab ice cream from Salt & Straw, and stroll through their old neighborhood.

A tiny little newlywed adventure.
A full-circle moment.
A “this is so us” kind of stop.

But time flies by, especially on wedding days.

We were running late, so J & C were thinking about skipping the ice cream stop.

But I was like… respectfully, absolutely not. 😆

Because yes, pretty portraits are important.

But the moments that actually feel like your life? Your relationship? Your story?

Those are the ones worth making room for.

I knew this would feel more meaningful than rushing to check off another “wedding photo location.”

Because your wedding day doesn’t have to be built only around what looks impressive.

It can be built around where you fell in love.
Where you started a life together.
What you actually enjoy doing.
The little rituals and places that make your relationship feel like home.

That’s the stuff that turns a wedding day from beautiful to unforgettable.

So yes — add the personal flair.
Add the activity you love.
Add the neighborhood stroll.
Add the ice cream.

The ice cream has rights. 🍦

J & C, thank you for trusting me when I gently bullied you into keeping the sweet little part of your day that felt the most like you.

Planning your own elopement or intimate wedding? No doubt you should add that personal flair, aka, the best decision ever!

10/10 Collision: When New Orleans Funk Took Over the Redwood Serenity.

When the ceremony ended, Calyn & Mike didn’t just walk back down the aisle…

They brought New Orleans into the redwoods. 🎺🌲

At their UC Berkeley Botanical Garden wedding, tucked inside a quiet, serene redwood grove, they surprised their guests with a Second Line brass band right after the ceremony.

And let me tell you — nothing wakes up a peaceful forest quite like New Orleans joy with a brass section. In the best way possible.

Mike is originally from the Bay Area, but he and Calyn now live in New Orleans. So bringing Southern culture into their Bay Area wedding wasn’t just a fun surprise.

It was a statement of who they are.

A little Bay Area + a little New Orleans = a whole lot of “us.”

After Calyn & Mike shared that they wanted a Second Line brass band experience, I put on my little wedding detective hat and found MJ’s Brass Boppers — an authentic New Orleans-style brass band blending traditional NOLA standards with a modern Bay Area twist.

And honestly? They were perfect for the scene.

This is exactly why I love weddings that go beyond “pretty.”

Pretty is cute.
Personal is unforgettable.

So yes, you can get married in a redwood grove.
Yes, you can bring in your culture, your music, your people, and your weird little plot twist.
And yes, your wedding can feel like a love letter to every place that made you who you are.

Calyn & Mike made the redwoods dance.

Sorry I went MIA — I was in the best kind of editing rabbit hole 😆

AKA: busy living in someone else’s best memories.

For the past few days, I’ve been editing Susan & Jason’s full day video, and it honestly felt like I got invited back into their wedding day all over again.

They decided to purchase their full day video as a 1-year anniversary gift to themselves, which is already the sweetest idea.

But selfishly? It became a gift for me too.

Because while I was putting everything together, I got to relive the little moments, the big feelings, the voices, the laughter, the happy tears, and all the tiny pieces of the day that made it feel like their day.

And yes, in some of those clips, you can definitely see me having an absolute blast too. Professional? Always. Emotionally invested? Also 100%.

I can’t tell you how many sweet in-between moments I found while editing this, or how many times I giggled and got teary-eyed sitting in front of my computer.

And that’s exactly what makes a full day video such a treat to have.

So… what is a full day video?

A full day video is basically everything we captured from your wedding day, put together in a chronological, polished, and very watchable way — the “let’s sit down with a glass of wine, a cheese board, and relive the whole thing” version.

Not just the highlight moments.
Not just the “best of the best.”
But the full story unfolding as it happened.

Your wedding day goes by so fast. One minute you’re getting ready, and the next minute someone is handing you cake and asking if you’ve eaten dinner yet.

A full day video lets you slow it all down and revisit the day with so much more room to feel it.

And the best part? You don’t have to decide right away.

You can purchase your full day video later — even a year later — as an anniversary gift to yourselves.

Which, honestly, feels like a very elite married-couple move ✨

Happy 1st anniversary, Susan & Jason. Your day was such a joy to revisit 🤍

Happy Mother’s Day!

I wasn’t able to celebrate with my own ma in person, but I did get to spend the day documenting a beautiful mama-to-be with a beautiful sunset — which felt like the sweetest way to honor the day.

Looking back at all the weddings I’ve photographed and filmed, moms are always part of the heartbeat of the story.

To all the moms who helped shape the incredible humans I get to document, thank you.

And to my own mom — thank you for your love, your care, and everything you’ve poured into me.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, mother figures, and moms-to-be. You are everything. 🤍
