Man what the helli is going on with these gyatt dang clams. Somebody put a leash on this guy he’s getting too feisty. 😈

Found this little guy stranded during a crazy low tide (-2.7) unable to get away and hide. His nubs were healed over so this wasn’t a recent injury. Crabs have the unique ability to regrow limbs over time so if all goes well there’s a very high chance he’ll make a full recovery with time. That is if something doesn’t eat him first. Hopefully he’ll be able to tuck himself away in the kelp and hide until that day comes.

“Sea turtles eat plastic bags” yeah and so do anemones. Please clean up your trash yall. Anemones should not be several inches deep choking down a great value turkey bag. This is really gross and can do some real damage. Do better please

The shell of a crab does not grow. The crab inside does. As a result they must go through a process called molting in which they burst out of their bodies leaving their exoskeletons behind. This is a molt and what I’m crunching. I am the crab cruncher (or more appropriately named molt cruncher but that doesn’t have the same ring)
