Color will always be my first love. But there is something black and white does that color just cannot. It strips everything back until all you have left is the feeling. No distractions, no noise, just two people and the moment between them. Some of my favorite photos I have ever taken are in black and white and I do not think that is an accident.

Rehearsal dinners are one of the most underrated parts of a wedding weekend. The timeline slows down, everyone finally gets a chance to breathe, and some of the most genuine moments happen when nobody thinks the “important” photos are being taken.

The hugs last a little longer, the stories get a little funnier, and the couple gets one last night surrounded by the people who helped them get here.

If you’re planning a wedding, don’t overlook your rehearsal dinner. Some of my favorite images from an entire wedding weekend come from moments exactly like this. 🤍

This definitely isn’t a complaint. This is context.

I’ve had so many people reach out lately saying they want to quit everything and pursue photography because of what they see on here and that genuinely means everything to me. 🤍

Social media only shows the highlight reel, and honestly, that’s partly on me too. I post the good sessions, the pretty sets, the wins. Of course it looks easy from the outside.

But I’d be doing you a disservice if I let you think this came easy.
4+ years. Juggling two nursing jobs at the same time. Months alone while Austin was away working. Every spare dollar poured into gear and education. Showing up to session less than12 hours after losing my grandma. Keeping it together on the outside when I was falling apart on the inside.

I’m not telling you not to chase it. I’m telling you it’s worth it AND it’s hard. Both things can be true. If you’re building something, keep going. Just know that everyone you admire has a version of this story you never saw.

You never fully know what someone had to carry to get where they are. 🤍

The drive to Kaitlyn & Tyler’s engagement session at the Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge had me in a full death grip on the steering wheel 😭 Hydroplaning, zero visibility, rain coming down sideways, genuinely top 5 scariest drives of my life. We still got out there and made it in and I am so glad we did. These two get married TOMORROW and I could not be more excited for them!! 🤍🩷
