There’s nothing I love more than having a physical memory I can hold in my hands. I have boxes of photographs, movie stubs, concert tickets, treasures I’ve collected from trips or that were once owned by/gifted to me by people that I love. In the age of digital and being able to stream just about anything I cherish owning the hard copy- if you’ve ever been to our home you know of our mass book, movie, vinyl, CD, and tape collections :) analog girlie through and through!

I made this VHS movie gift for as a surprise, I had brought the VHS camera I found in our grandmothers attic to her wedding that I was shooting and tried to inconspicuously record throughout the day (keep swiping to see a snippet of the film ☻) The tape inside is an old tape safe so I could hide a note and a USB with the footage inside. I fell in love with every part of the process and I am SOOO excited to now offer this vintage labor of love to any wedding film or home movie session🕊️✨📼❤️‍🔥 let’s bring back the art of tangible memories!

We talked about this shoot for a long time. Dreamed it up and let it simmer. Chronic illness can steal so much. I sat with my best friend on the floor of her bedroom as she did her makeup with shaky hands. Listening to anything that would distract her from the physical burden of just getting ready and walking around the backyard. These photos marked their wedding anniversary, a testament to the years spent together and all they had endured and fought for. I saw a spark in my friend that night as I pressed the shutter, a beautiful glowing ember in a mountain of ashes. Images can speak so much to us, but the process of being photographed can be its own kind of healing.

The little moments are the big ones. Since a child I’ve romanticized everything, and I love being able to translate how I see people and the world through my work. There’s magic in everything when you know how to tilt your head just right :)
