And with fall, holiday sessions, minis, and all the end-of-year craziness right around the corner, here are a few things you’ll want to know:

I have limited flexibility for weekends for the remainder of 2026. If you’ve been saying “We really need to get family pictures done…” consider this your friendly nudge.

HAVE A CREDIT OR GIFT CERTIFICATE? PLEASE READ!
This is your official friendly-but-serious reminder: all session credits and gift certificates expire at the end of 2026. That means you need to schedule your session ASAP—not just reach out before the end of the year. My calendar is already filling, and once those remaining 2026 dates are gone, I can't magically create more no matter how much I might like to. So if you have a credit or gift certificate tucked away somewhere waiting for “the right time”… this is your sign. Pull it out, dust it off, and let's get you on the calendar!

Now with August almost wrapped up, our end of year minis will be releasing soon. I have some things in the works, new and classic options, but what are you hoping for? Beach, tree lined park, fields, more structured with a built set or more organic to the location, pumpkins, very Christmas, historic Charleston? What do you have your heart set on?

There’s a little-known season in the Lowcountry that locals look forward to all year long…

I affectionately call it... “locals’ summer.” 🌴

It’s that sweet spot when the summer vacation crowds have packed up and headed home, the beaches start breathing a little easier, restaurant wait times get a little shorter, and suddenly… our favorite places feel like ours again.

The temperatures? Still hot. 😂 But I promise, those first hints of cooler days are coming.

And for us locals, that’s the magic. We get to slow down, linger a little longer, enjoy the beach without the hustle, grab dinner without planning three weeks ahead, and soak up all the little things that made us fall in love with the Lowcountry in the first place.

Because before the holiday season arrives and life gets busy again, there’s this little pocket of time that belongs to the people who call this place home.

Welcome to locals’ summer. 💛

What a privilege it is to be loved by a dog and have them live alongside us through so many chapters. The old dogs wear their wisdom on their faces and carry our deepest secrets. Nothing beats the loyalty and steadfastness of a good dog.

Summer is on it's way out and so are many finalized galleries from the recent mini options. Who's ready for Fall and all the pumpkin goodness? If you're someone who waits for our brutal Charleston heat to pass before getting your family together for photos, have you looked at dates yet? I'm now booking September through December!

If you've ever experienced July in Charleston, you know comfortable weather is about as rare as finding an empty parking spot on the weekend. 😅

But somehow, this evening gave us exactly that on Folly.

A steady ocean breeze, comfortable temperatures, soft golden light, and a family soaking in one of the sweetest seasons of life together before welcoming their newest little love. These are the sessions photographers dream about—and families remember forever.

This sweet big sister already has the most important job waiting, and watching her family laugh, play, and embrace these final moments as a family of three made this session so special.

This was my special place as a teen. I'd drive out to Folly and find myself sitting among the skeleton trees on the beach with no buildings in sight, watching the clouds and dolphins go by, letting my thoughts fly away with the coastal breeze and wash away in the waves. It's such a treat to be able to share this beautiful place with my clients.
