$8 Locals Day on the Charleston Water Taxi 🚤🌴

Starting this September, the 8th of every month is Locals Day, giving Charleston metro area residents, local students, and military members the chance to ride the Charleston Water Taxi for just $8 all day with a qualifying ID.

Here’s what you need to know:

📍 Driver’s License: Must show an address in the Charleston metro area
🎖️ Military ID: Valid military ID accepted
🎓 Student ID: Must be from a local high school or college

Tickets must be purchased in person after your qualifying ID is verified by the crew.

2026 Locals Day dates:

📅 September 8
📅 October 8
📅 November 8
📅 December 8

Regular fares are $17 for an All Day Pass, with kids 3 and under riding free. Kids ages 4+ are $15. One-way fares are $13.

The Charleston Water Taxi departs hourly from four locations: Waterfront Park, Maritime Center, Patriots Point at the USS Yorktown, and Charleston Harbor Resort.
