A beautiful wedding design often starts with one statement piece—and Stradley Davidson’s new Henrietta Jewel fabric is certainly worthy of being that piece.

Classic blue gives it that traditional foundation so many brides love, while pops of red, warm maroon, and richer jewel tones add depth, warmth, and just enough of the unexpected.

And this is where a beautiful fabric choice can do so much for a wedding day.

Incorporating a pattern like Henrietta Jewel into invitation suite photos immediately begins telling the design story. From there, those same colors and details can be carried into linens, florals, ribbons, signage, table settings, welcome gifts, and all of the little pieces that make a wedding feel intentionally pulled together.

The result isn’t simply a beautiful invitation or a beautiful piece of fabric—it’s a statement that helps tie together the entire look and feel of the day.

Henrietta Jewel by Stradley Davidson feels classic, layered, distinctive, and completely at home in a beautifully designed wedding. A pattern that makes a statement today and is still worthy of being treasured generations from now.

Charleston has no shortage of beautiful hotels, but The Vendue has always felt a little different.
Sitting in the heart of the historic district, just steps from Waterfront Park, it’s a space that embraces Charleston while bringing something entirely its own to the city—bold artwork, elevated design, unexpected color, and rooms and hallways that invite you to slow down and actually look around.

As a photographer, I’m naturally drawn to spaces with layers. Interesting architecture. Beautiful light. Art that makes you stop. A pop of red where you weren’t expecting it. The Vendue has all of it.

In a city known for its history and traditional beauty, I love a space that isn’t afraid of a little color and personality.

Consider this your reminder to look up, look around, and choose to walk through the red door. ❤️

I think this was supposed to be a surprise proposal. 😂

Weeks of planning, secret conversations, birthday cards, changing plans…and all the things. Because sometimes proposals become a little more complicated than I think the guys initially understand.

It started with Caroline receiving a photography session for her birthday. I even sent her a birthday card telling her how excited I was to meet her and that I couldn’t wait to photograph her and Nicholas during their upcoming couple session.

And technically, none of that was a lie. 😂

Little did Caroline know that her birthday session was actually part of a much bigger plan—a surprise engagement.

Then roll the clock forward a bit.

There’s now a surprise engagement party planned with family and close friends. I’m photographing that too. Everything is coming together.

And then I start getting calls from Nicholas…

“I think she’s onto me.”

Followed eventually by something along the lines of, “I think I’m going to propose a day early.”

Because apparently the best way to throw Caroline off was to throw the photographer off too. 😂

But really, Nicholas was just SO excited to propose that he couldn’t wait any longer.

And honestly? I loved it.

So the proposal happened Friday. The “birthday session” still happened Saturday. And the whole thing ended with a fabulous surprise party filled with family and close friends celebrating a newly engaged Nicholas and Caroline.

Plans changed. Things moved around. The surprise evolved. And somehow, all of it came together exactly as it should.

These are the moments I absolutely love being invited into—the stories families will tell for years, the behind-the-scenes craziness no one sees, and the photographs that get to live on long after all the planning is over.

Nicholas + Caroline, I loved every bit of this one. And I absolutely loved your engagement session. 🤍🥂

Apparently today was a posting day. 😂

I don’t know all the Instagram algorithms, rules, or the “right” number of times you’re supposed to post in a day. Some days I feel like sharing, and then other times weeks go by and posting feels like just one more job on the list.

But today, it was simply time.

There are far too many beautiful photographs sitting on hard drives, waiting to be shared—and these are a few of them.

Lake Como, Italy. Villa Pizzo. 🇮🇹

I took an enormous number of photographs of this property because everywhere I turned there was something worth documenting—the architecture, the gardens, the water, the textures, the history, and those incredible Lake Como views.

So here are just a few.

Because sometimes you don’t need a content strategy or a posting schedule. Sometimes you just need to pull the photographs off the hard drive and share the beautiful things you’ve had the privilege of seeing.

And Villa Pizzo is most definitely worth sharing. 🤍

Some wedding days simply feel joyful from beginning to end, and Katelyn and Brandon’s beautiful summer wedding at Seabrook Island was exactly that. 🤍

Their family and friends were genuinely happy to be there—celebrating them, laughing alongside them, and soaking in such a special day.

But what I loved most was watching Katelyn and Brandon together. Their relationship is lighthearted and jovial, filled with smiles, laughter, and an ease that comes from truly enjoying one another. They don’t take themselves too seriously, they have fun together, and that kind of friendship within a marriage is such a beautiful thing to witness.

Katelyn and Brandon, it was an absolute honor to spend this day with you and your wonderful families. I have a feeling all that laughter and joy you share will carry you beautifully through the years ahead. 🤍

A truly wonderful summer day at Seabrook Island.

It’s all in the details. 🤍

Alexa had such a beautiful vision for her wedding day, and every carefully chosen element helped tell that story—from the custom golf balls and gentlemen’s details to her invitation suite, fabrics, color palette, custom matchboxes, and all of those tiny pieces that, together, create the feeling of a wedding day.

I’ll definitely be sharing more from Alexa’s beautiful celebration, but for now, a moment for her gorgeous invitation suite.

And for future brides and planners, here’s something you may not know about the way I work…

I prefer to receive two complete invitation suites at least one month before the wedding day. Mail them to me, meet me in Charleston, send along information on that specially chosen patterned fabric, the custom matchboxes, ribbon, paper goods, or any other details that have been thoughtfully selected for the celebration.

Why?

Because I want time to see what you see.

Your details give me insight into the colors, textures, patterns, and overall vision you’ve spent months creating. They allow me to start thinking about how all of those pieces can be photographed together to tell a cohesive story.

And a little-known fact: sometimes I begin photographing your wedding before your wedding day even arrives.

When details are provided to me ahead of time, I have the opportunity to photograph and create without taking that time away from your actual wedding-day coverage. It gives me the freedom to experiment, style, and create more than the wedding-day timeline might otherwise allow.

Why do I do it?

Because I enjoy it. Because the details matter. And because I love taking all of the beautiful pieces you’ve carefully chosen and turning them into photographs that tell the story you envisioned. 🤍

September is almost here, which means Nora & Vinny’s wedding day is just around the corner! 🤍

I can’t wait to celebrate this beautiful couple as they say “I do” at The Mills House in the heart of Charleston. Their day is going to be such a special one, and I’m so excited to be there to capture it all. 🙌

A wedding weekend is about so much more than the wedding day itself.

Chandler & Grant kicked off their celebration with a beautiful rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Cannon Green in downtown Charleston, surrounded by the people who mean the most to them. Even on a simmering hot summer evening, the hospitality was exceptional—thoughtful service, incredible food, and a team that made every guest feel comfortable from beginning to end.

Cannon Green continues to be one of my favorite Charleston venues. The courtyard, inviting atmosphere, and thoughtful attention to every detail make it an exceptional setting for unforgettable events.

A wonderful evening, a wonderful couple, and the perfect way to begin an unforgettable wedding weekend. 🤍

Alexa and Jack’s wedding weekend on Kiawah Island was the perfect blend of classic elegance and heartfelt celebration.

From a coastal welcome party at The Sanctuary to a beautiful ceremony overlooking the lagoon at Osprey Point, every detail reflected their love for timeless design and meaningful moments. Soft whites, lush greenery, delicate blush tones, and old-world touches created an atmosphere that felt both refined and inviting.

As the sun set over Kiawah, the celebration continued with an unforgettable evening of incredible music, joyful dancing, and a streamer send-off to end the perfect weekend.

Congratulations, Alexa & Jack. What a beautiful way to begin your next chapter. 🤍

From above, it’s a beautiful ceremony.

From the aisle, it’s a father walking beside his daughter one last time before giving her hand to the man she’ll spend forever with.

Some moments deserve to be remembered from every perspective. More from Katelyn & Brandon’s wedding day soon. 🤍
