Florida in August gives us about 30 minutes before everyone starts melting. Including me. 🥵

That’s not a lot of time to get to know a family and figure them out on the spot. This is why the design call before your session is so helpful.

Before your session, we’ll chat about locations and pick a spot that works for your family. Not just a pretty backdrop. We’ll talk about your outfits and plan the perfect timing for your family.

It’s space for me to learn which photos will mean the most to you in 10 years.

That way we aren’t rushing through the heat, but shooting intentionally for your family.

Halfway through this Apollo Beach at-home session, a storm rolled in. The kind Florida is famous for. The sky went dark and the power went out. Instead of wrapping up the session, I brought out my flash and we enjoyed listening to the rain and thunder by the bay windows.

We had a calm shoot despite the outside noise, and this reminded me of the beauty of at-home sessions. Instead of loading up the car seat, diaper bag, and searching for umbrellas, they were comfortable at home letting the storm roll over.

Lifestyle sessions aren’t about the perfect timing or conditions. They’re about your connection, your space, your story.

This stage of pregnancy doesn’t last as long as it feels like it will.

Right now the days might feel long, especially those last few weeks. But this version of you, the belly, the anticipation, the quiet before everything changes, moves faster than expected. In a few months your little one will be in your arms and this becomes a memory.

That’s part of why I love shooting maternity sessions at golden hour on the beach. The light softens, everyone slows down for a minute, and you get to be present in this season with a moment of appreciation before the next chapter.

This moment is worth preserving.

Sandy walks on the beach, a stunning sunset, and their fur babies. Just a few of my favorite things for a session.

Dakota and Evan’s engagement shoot will forever be a favorite. I had so much fun strolling the beach with them, letting the dogs play, and enjoying the sunset to send us off.

As we head into peak season, I’d love to help you plan your fall session. Whether it’s the two of you, the whole family, and of course the dogs are always welcome, too. 🐶

Thank you so much for the warm welcome this week. 🤍 As the giveaway closes tonight, I’m feeling so grateful for all of you sharing your stories with me and considering me for your family’s photos.

Some of you are celebrating incredible milestones. Some are moving through heartbreak and grief. Some are celebrating after making it through dark times. Hearing these stories and seeing how much documenting our lives matters to people has meant so much this week.

We’ve spent the past week settling into our new home and exploring the area, and I can’t wait to see what comes next, and who the giveaway winner is!

As a mom, I know how fast those little moments pass, and how much is already on your plate between family schedules, work, and everything in between. It was so nice catching up with Mariah and Landon for their family photos. I photographed their wedding in 2022 and it’s beautiful to see how their family has grown since. 🩵

We spent their session walking the trails together, taking in the views, letting their little guy climb every rock he could find.

Then after a while we came around a bend to the field full of wild ponies. This is the part of a session we can’t plan for.

The best frames almost never come from the pose. They come from what happens on the way there. 🤍
