june 8th just loves ending off with beautiful lightning. drove down to the texas panhandle at 5 in the morning to capture my second moderate (4/5) risk of the year. we followed a gnarly storm dropping 5+ inch hail and 100+ MPH wind gusts, and almost got caught in a circulation. after all of that, we went on the slow-moving cells at the back of the line which were dropping constant beautiful lightning around snyder, tx. i call this “double trouble,” and it’s one of my favorites. (also the music video to this song just came out and it’s AMAZING)

june 27th. i went into this expecting nothing crazy. but i ended up seeing 5 tornadoes in 1 day in north dakota, with 4 happening within moments of each other after sunset. 4 EFUs and 1 EF1. the first one, “trunk,” is of the tornado near mandan, nd. the second, “clear slot,” is of the storm after that tornado dissipating. the final, “night terror,” is of a tornado near menoken, nd.

captured this rain-wrapped tornado with some BEAUTIFUL coloring near sycamore, KS, on april 26, 2026.

went into this day expecting not that much to happen, and it ended up being the most successful day of the 3-day chase.

while trying to adjust positioning to get away from the approaching RFD and tornado, we had lightning strike way too close for comfort (estimated to be around 200ft). then we got caught in the RFD anyways.
